I’ve been wondering what purpose Rinko serves to the greater narrative of Hinako fearing marriage. I think it’s the line in the journal about how they fight but always make up eventually. Hinako values her friendship with Rinko and knows she’s troubled. Letting go means it won’t be good ever again.

I joke about Hinako wondering if Rinko really wrote the mean origami about her but it’s actually really cool how much empathy she has for Rinko in her journal. Rinko is bullying Hinako, Hinako is wondering when they will make up and be friends again and it’s NOT because Hinako is stupid.
