A lot of people are rightly pointing out that this coward has wet himself.

I want to point out that the way he is using that less than lethal riot control device is highly likely to make it lethal. You’re supposed to skip it off the ground, not shoot it point blank at the face. Untrained amateur.

See, that’s the thing. The asset economy is doing great. If you’re in the 50-60% of Americans who invest in the stock market, and the ~60% who own a house and have a mortgage before 2021, you’re doing great! Prices have never been higher!

But if you’re on the outside, in the wage economy, it’s bad.

If Congress takes away same sex marriage nationwide, revoking status of existing same sex marriage along the way, there will be an enraged electorate that won’t forgive them. Same sex marriage support still polls above 50% in all 50 states, and as high as 80% in the 18-34 bracket.

I’m not so sure about that. SCOTUS has the ability to overturn Obergefell without fear for the consequences because A) they’re unelected and we have no recourse, and B) they believe that the states where the decision will be most unpopular will still allow same sex marriage, mitigating the uproar.

As someone who’s in the same boat
— if Obergefell is overturned, it likely takes Loving too — I take some consolation that the Respect for Marriage Act still protects my existing marriage, and that travel to Blue States will be possible for LGBT couples who want to marry.

Still suboptimal though.

To be clear, I think all of NCLB, ESSA, and the Trump dismantling of DOE are going to create an entire generation of Americans unable to take up the mantle of a participatory democracy.

All three share their own unique piece of the blame as a whole. We’ve screwed up so badly.

Strangely enough, NCLB created all the students who were falling behind grade level (because suddenly there were state standards showing they were falling behind). But it was the successor - Every Student Succeeds Act - that eliminated any penalty for falling behind and allowed students to graduate.

I routinely ride Acela between DC/Boston, but not with my dogs. 20lbs for dog+carrier is ridiculously prohibitive.

A family member in Portland Oregon died unexpectedly and left behind a 2 year old husky who is currently on a 5 day hold in a shelter while I try to figure out a way to get her to me here in Portland Maine so that I can adopt her...without it costing All the Money.

Anyone have any ideas?

He lied about leaving the East Wing intact. What assurance do we have that the renovation is actually going to be funded privately? He has a history of not actually coughing up his own money when he says he will.

I think it’s a lot more likely it gets paid for by one of his rescissions or tariffs.
