I'm the same and i'm just glad it's caused by high pressure because endless days of low pressure usually triggers a migraine for me 😩
Yeah, it's definitely a plus for seeing moths.

😂 i can totally understand that Steve.
I've done ok for moths so far this week and hopefully my outdoor light sources will provide some more over the next few mornings.

We've had 4 days of it Ruth. I only found out the term for it because the weather presenter mentioned it yesterday.
Nice one regards the fungi.

I jumped the bus to Clydebank and walked it back home along the F&C Canal. No change in the weather, still stuck under that Anticyclonic Gloom 😤

Thank you Debbie. After years of walking 'locally' i know where all the outside light sources are and i always check the ones in relation to any given walk.

Took a walk along the F&C Canal to Lambhill Stables/Cafe on the Canal and was rewarded with my first ever patch Streak 😃 The outside lights also produced my first Feathered Thorn of the year. Moth yearlist (all stages, no trapping) #162

Not a lot to report from my 4.7 mile early morning walk apart from this wee tiny juvenile Walnut Orb Weaver. Perfection in miniature!

It does yeah. It's a frequently used roost site throughout autumn & winter.

Friday 10th Oct
Had to go into the city to buy some train tickets to go and see my 2 daughters & granddaughter next month. I walked it along the canal but not a lot doing : the Oily Waxcaps i found last week had now matured and 4 Cormorants were roosting/preening on one of the lights along the M8

It is but there's far better ones.

You're welcome Ruth. Yeah, they're usually over/near a water source.

Caddiesflies lay their eggs suspended like that.
