The lack of rail in the south and west of NI is unfortunately a consequence of our history. Since those areas were predominately Catholic the Protestant government of NI from 1921-72 only funded infrastructure in the Protestant north and east.

A lot of locals complain about Grand Central being too big for purpose, but it was built with future expansion of an all-Ireland rail network in mind.

I don't hate it - I just wish there were more local businesses in it instead of big corporate shops/coffee/pubs

They're from Belfast so even though they indentify as Irish they're still living in the UK and subject to UK law. Also they knew right from the start it was a BS charge that would be dismissed and give them loads of publicity

The 68 members are individual broadcasting organizations, not states. So for countries where the state TV broadcaster and the state radio broadcaster are separate orgs, there would be 2 members from that country.

A resident spotted a young gull trapped on a bird house at Ward Park today. I waded out to free it, but sadly its leg was badly injured.
Thanks to the quick response of the amazing @uspca.bsky.social team, the bird got urgent vet care in Belfast.

👉 Please keep an eye out for animals in distress.
