Vought is a civil officer and can be impeached. They should demand it. Quit with the weak sauce already!

While they're at it, they should also call for Trump to be impeached for tyranny, and then for Trump and Hegseth to be impeached for Treason.

Unconstitutionally taking money that the law says must be spent on one purpose & using it for something else—when it's to establish personalist control over the FUCKING MILITARY—is about as dangerous a constitutional crisis/failure as you can imagine

The Office of Management and Budget sent a notification to Congress about their intent to use research and development funds to pay members of the military, two sources with direct knowledge tell NBC News.

A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC News that it plans to use the research and development funds and that there are two years' worth of funds available within the Department of Defense.

We believe that even failed impeachment is a good thing because 1) It shows that members are taking their oaths seriously and 2) It puts his crimes, explicitly, into the Congressional record for everyone to see.

Trump hated those first two impeachments with the fire of a billion suns. He fears it.

Lots, of course. However, abolishing the Affordable Care Act is not required by the Constitution. Impeachment for impeachable acts is. Every member of Congress takes the same oath.

Senators can encourage Articles of Impeachment in the House, and the House often looks to the Senate for leadership on issues.

We would love to add Senator Warren to our tracker as being pro-impeachment and removal! It is the Constitutional remedy.

Thanks! We agree. There should be Articles introduced daily, if only for the sake of the Congressional record and posterity. Goodness knows there's no shortage of material.

CI's proposed Article of Impeachment for treason is great. Skeptics are badly underestimating how powerful it would be for Dems to keep introducing such articles. They could be angry, funny, provocative! Even in "failure," it would be a way of seizing the narrative through quality political theater.

Even if Congress had authorized spending this money for this purpose, there's a limit. Congress is uniquely, on this specific kind of spending, restrained. Appropriations for "armies" expire after two years maximum, by constitutional mandate. Not on the navy, not for anything else. A standing army.

That he's directing the OMB to use R+D funds to pay the military, which Congress has not authorized, seems sketchy. Worth investigating.
