I’m giving my first talk EVER. 😱😳😱

The other speakers: “You’ll love this topic. It will spark joy. 🤗”

Me: “I’m going to be talking about time zones. 💀”

Just kidding of course. Very grateful to the @swiftleeds.co.uk team for picking my talk and giving me this opportunity.

My first trip to the UK!

instant downvote for squirrel content.
It looks like my heart rate hit 132 bpm while I was on stage and was "only" 112 bpm while I was freaking out waiting for my turn.

Honestly I would have thought those numbers would be reversed.

Yet another Shenzhen trip thread (5th in last 12 months - thank you Liz for looking after the kids!) Red eye lands 5am, then meetings. Going to check out Global Sources (CES for Asia?) this weekend too
Looking at you Amazon. 😭

How accessible is your iOS app? Want to find out?
Send me a message this week to get a free audit of your app.

(I've got five slots available for free audits, so first come first served!)

I was really pleased with how I was able to stylize the QR code for my @swiftleeds.co.uk presentation with QRCode Monkey.

I had no idea that you could use curved shapes for the corners.

Now that I've survived giving my first conference talk I can say that this advice from Vinh Giang was incredibly helpful.

Even when I was nervous before my talk I had the comfort of knowing that I had rehearsed and knew the material like the back of my hand.

Exactly. Even when I would start walking again it would keep nagging me over and over again because it had initially been triggered.
I love this addition to WatchOS 26 so much.

My watch shouldn't keep nagging me over and over because I stopped to look at something on a nature walk.

another new fun customizable face from dp_faces! apps.rebble.io/en_US/applic...
This might be my favorite Pebble watch face I've seen so far.

Found an accessibility issue with iOS 26 and Reduce Motion.

The per-app setting is completely ignored and the system setting is always used.

I have it turned off at the system level and turn it on for certain apps. I thought that I had broken my "please wait" animation.

If you have no proof then it didn't happen.
When I'm organizing speakers for happy hour and I learn that their only social network is Linkedin I always do the surprised Pikachu face.
I've definitely had the post vacation blues today but installing the update that restores my beloved Slide Over mode on my iPad brought me joy.

Oh wow, this looks really cool. How has @ryley.bsky.social not told me about this yet?
I'm so glad in my talk that when I mentioned print statements that I also mentioned that I also use OSLog. 😬
Here's another reason to stop using print statements in your code and start using OSLog instead!

💪 You can access os_log events from instruments to give you a better chance at fixing those pesky performance issues.
Matthew is great and all but pizzaaaaaaaaa.
At least it's no Sbarro.
Looking forward to having you in my feed.
