Timely reminder for everyone to continue to report all dead birds that you find to the links below for possible testing. It's also really valuable to submit to @birdtrack.bsky.social for monitoring purposes too.
⚠️ Please report sightings of dead birds for possible testing for Avian Influenza. ⬇️

This is such a crying shame, and so short-sighted. But there it is.
For 61 years the #BBCWorldService has been broadcasting the latest in science via its weekly Science in Action programme. That dies in the next half hour, with this final edition, reflecting on the fall in trust in expertise driven by malign interests over recent years.
We made a near-2-acre wild garden from the garden and yards of an old farmhouse and a piece of field. 24 years on, reaping the rewards!

Imagine being a Minister in Scottish Govt & sanctioning 6 months of torching this sensitive & important carbon-sequestering habitat, in a climate emergency & against will of Parliament, just so a handful of wealthy elites can get off on killing Red Grouse.

So why didn't you put the quote in quotation marks?
You tell us nothing about yourself, so I've absolutely no idea what people you claim to be like or why it would matter to me.

'We risk becoming an island of strangers' said Starmer, stupidly.
You, I and everyone else are included in that quote.
The name isn't the issue, it's the lack of any information in your bio. Jacob.
Why are you afraid to give away any information about yourself?
If you're not a bot, why behave as one?

Mail headline about Bob Vylan was not misleading, regulator finds bit.ly/4oIf5ou even though he did not say the words in single quotes, it summarised what he said. If Mail had used double quotes that would have been different, maybe.
Mail on Sunday Bob Vylan 'death to Israelis' splash 'not misleading', IPSO says
A Mail on Sunday splash saying punk rap duo Bob Vylan had chanted "led ‘death to Israelis’" chants at Glastonbury was not misleading - IPSO.

Important piece by @resi-analyst.bsky.social this. Successive governments seem not to have understood that your regulatory framework over the longterm shapes who your market participants *are*. If want short-term (i.e. over the next 5-10 years) benefits of planning reform, need to be more active.
New homes: even if you build them, there’s no one to buy them
We’re often told housing demand exceeds supply — so why are new homes struggling to be built and bought?

Government either needs to go 'well, we've made these changes and over time, the market will do its thing and new businesses will emerge' or it needs to actively do things to accelerate that process/act as a £450k a pop builder itself for a bit.
Thanks, Fiona! That's cheered me up!
Blyth's Reed Warbler and Sabines Gull, both along the Tweed and Borders' 3rd Cattle Egret 2 weeks ago (wasn't the 'finder').
A Pied Flycatcher in the garden, White-fronted Goose near the house, Marsh and Pectoral Sandpipers at Musselburgh - all-in-all a good year!
That's great to hear!
Viv died in September, he was living on his farm in Portugal - he did well to live into his eighties.
When I hung out with him we were both at a low point - he was living in a friend's basement.
If he gets the Peace Prize, even the dead will rise up to hand back theirs!

Only an imbecile believes the planet is infinite. You appear to constantly treat friends as enemies.
Solar and wind are the solutions - messy at the moment, but if the biosphere survives, and as the technology improves, the harms can be healed.
Just what are your solutions? Are you genuine?
