Canada’s EV tariffs are stupid policy. The NA automakers chose to electrify their largest and most expensive vehicles first. It was dumb and Canada shouldn’t reward their shortsighted decisions.

We do need journalists. What we have now are often shills masquerading as journalists.

To be fair, he also never actually saw Israelis massacring Gazans. If one doesn’t see something it never happened, correct??

Can you think of an explanation for the almost total media silence on this *other* than pure cowardice? If so, please share.

Disgusting but not surprising, is it??

"The richest man in the world and the owner of the most influential social media site in US politics is a nazi who openly supports and amplifies other nazis" would, on its face, seem to be rather newsworthy!

Hey news people: I know you like to pretend this doesn't exist, but you need to pay attention to the Nazi drama on Twitter. Basically, it seems as if Elon just restored two major neo-Nazi accounts that were banned by his product head, and might be about to fire the product head for banning them

Renowned Israeli historian, author and professor Ilan Pappé discusses postwar prospects of Palestinian statehood and of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is under investigation for corruption in Israel and subject to an international arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court.

To be fair, it has been Zionist policy since Theodore Herzl. Why we delude ourselves and let the Palestinians get ground into dust is one of our greatest crimes.
On genocide there is no middle ground: if one does not condemn it, one tacitly approves it.
chipduck.bsky.social
Carney worries me. He’s not recognized the Israeli genocide of Palestinians (which is irrefutable). And he seems to be planning on building pipelines rather than accelerating our transition to renewables. I can’t help but worry that he’s less concerned about people than about corporate profits.

The ‘rules’ aren’t working, are they?

Correct

Unconstitutionally taking money that the law says must be spent on one purpose & using it for something else—when it's to establish personalist control over the FUCKING MILITARY—is about as dangerous a constitutional crisis/failure as you can imagine

The Office of Management and Budget sent a notification to Congress about their intent to use research and development funds to pay members of the military, two sources with direct knowledge tell NBC News.

A spokesperson for the OMB confirmed to NBC News that it plans to use the research and development funds and that there are two years' worth of funds available within the Department of Defense.

I think this is a good time to remind everyone:

Pam Bondi is PROTECTING wealthy adult men who have RAPED little girls

AND

she is currently the top law enforcement official in the United States.

Let that sink in.

Agree completely. It is inexcusable that Gasparro assumed that he had such authority and acted as he did.
chipduck.bsky.social
In the private sector such comp is pretty modest. Look at the filings for any public company. Hislop’s point is still valid. Carney seems focused on maximizing corporate and oil patch success. The environment and Canadians are seemingly a lower priority.

Israel has been holding Palestinians hostage for 75 years. No charges. No trials. Just incarceration. This has NOTHING to do with October 7.

Unsurprising vileness from the @nytimes.com who decided the best picture for the ceasefire deal is an Israeli celebrating. Yeah it’s the people who did the genocide who deserve to be featured!

He also facilitated a genocide.
chipduck.bsky.social
I’m afraid there is a real risk you are correct. Carney has steadfastly refused to condemn Israel’s genocide. Why??
chipduck.bsky.social
True. But our path towards generating power and motion without burning carbon is still being resisted by vested interests who have effectively bought politicians. Renewable efficiency is off the charts compared to carbon yet many still pretend otherwise. Our kids and grandkids will pay a price.

She MUST act this way. If Trump/MAGA are defeated in an election, she’ll be heading to jail for a long time. So she can’t afford to NOT be successful in her fascist endeavours, and behaving as if it is a forgone conclusion is an important part of the act.
chipduck.bsky.social
And we in Canada want to build pipelines and carbon capture projects. It’s shameful.
