3 weeks to go until Election Day 2025 and wanted to share a really cool Election Night chart that my pal @admcrlsn.bsky.social worked on. He did one of these last fall & I suggested he do one again. So here you go!

Almost to the finish line folks! ✊

From my count, it was 8-6 to deny this.

Elections have consequences. (In our favor with this one)
chicyph80.bsky.social
and the double standard around age and Bernie is just....very revealing....
chicyph80.bsky.social
Mills also was one of the first to stand up to Trump in this new administration. 🤷‍♂️
chicyph80.bsky.social
I assume you'd have that same concerns if Bernie ran for re-election correct?
chicyph80.bsky.social
My God....SCOTUS actually did something good?!
chicyph80.bsky.social
Could be! But again, I just hope people will acknowledge, it comes with a lot of risk....
chicyph80.bsky.social
lol let me clarify, the Dem primary voters ;)
chicyph80.bsky.social
High risk, high reward with Platner but I trust the voters of Maine to decide what’s right for them.
chicyph80.bsky.social
I will die on the hill that I think the odds that Platner ends up being another Fetterman or Sinema are way too high for my comfort. I get the concerns with Mills’ age but the most important thing (IMHO) is she’s shown she’d be a reliable, predictable vote.

2 visions for beating Collins

Mills: “Her record of winning elections has been taking on untested candidates ... I am not untested"

Platner: “If you don’t get a candidate that’s going to inspire and energize a lot of the independents .. serious risk of losing"

Mills launches her Senate bid with ‘no promises’ to Schumer
The two-term Maine governor talked to Semafor about jumping into an unexpectedly crowded Democratic primary with distance from the leader.

Yea the North is going to be a journey this season me thinks…
chicyph80.bsky.social
lol I unsubscribed this year so I’ll give myself a pass for checking the front page every once in a blue moon 🤣🤣
chicyph80.bsky.social
I am just so angry that national outlets are barely covering any of this. It’s insanity.
chicyph80.bsky.social
Just checked NYT and not a single mention on the front page about Chicago, Portland, or ICE kidnappings.

The media in this country are basically just state-sponsored propaganda at this point….

This is something I've been thinking a lot about....nothing Bezos is doing with WaPo particularly makes sense.

Buying up something to literally kill it seems like a terrible, terrible investment strategy. I don't get it.

1000%. I compare it to Biden on the Afghan withdrawal and Gaza. Those were two issues that he unfortunately just never recovered from with many.

The dye was cast. The debt ceiling in the spring was that moment for Schumer.
chicyph80.bsky.social
I will say this, people can be angry at Schumer for whatever they see fit but I applaud him on the Senate candidate recruitment side of things. He is leaving zero stones unturned!
chicyph80.bsky.social
Touch the stove, America....🤷‍♂️
chicyph80.bsky.social
Said "Reasons" 😂😂😜
chicyph80.bsky.social
So, I think the ONLY risk with that is you risk make the Governor's race a national race but otherwise I agree because that may just be inevitable 🤷‍♂️
chicyph80.bsky.social
Probably our best shot at keeping Vivek out of the governor's mansion in Columbus.

My general feeling is simple: if the voters of Ohio elect him, they get the government they voted for 🤷‍♂️

Tim Ryan has told his inner circle to start working on putting an Ohio gubernatorial campaign plan together, though he still hasn’t decided whether to enter the race, according to the Democrat’s communications adviser. This comes as Ramaswamy clears the GOP field.

Tim Ryan inches closer toward Ohio governor race, but won’t yet commit
The Democratic ex-congressman has told his inner circle to put a campaign plan together, but he hasn't yet decided whether to enter the governor's race.

Yea, don't get me wrong. Lessons learned are important. It just seems like people want to rehash the Biden stuff over and over again. And I'm like y'all, it is what it is at this point.

I'm not sure what else there is to say except to agree with people 🤷‍♂️
chicyph80.bsky.social
I see you're watching this one for....the plot. 😂
chicyph80.bsky.social
But I also acknowledge I am not in the majority with this thinking. Many people seem to default to wanting to rehash things.

Anyways, just an interesting observation.
chicyph80.bsky.social
This is not a knock on you at all my friend. I just find it interesting how people think revisionist thinking / wishing things were different is helpful.

I just find it incredibly unhelpful to me personally. I'd rather focus on our current reality than wish things were different.
