That is a thing that some people believe, because of course it is.
“It’s one army, Michael. How much could it cost?”
"It remains unclear how far the donation would go toward covering the salaries of the more than 1.3 million troops who make up the active-duty military.....A $130 million donation would equal about $100 a service member."

…for decades, as an example of how important forensic evidence and advances in forensic science were. And then I got to law school and took a course similar to the one you must have taken. Bite mark evidence was one of the first things debunked. I am still mad (esp. because I know it’s still used).
When I was a kid, visiting family in Texas, a woman was raped and murdered out in the oil field (something that happened often enough in the late ‘70s/early ‘80s that I haven’t been able to identify the specific case), and the suspect was identified via bite marks. I remembered that news story…
Oof.

I cleared our storage unit out a couple of weeks ago, but it's only a 20-minute drive. And there was no real time pressure. Having to do it that fast is rough.
The sledgehammer is on top of the books, wrapped in a towel, so it’s pretty well-balanced. And yes, very heavy.
Anyway, now that the yarn and the fauxliage have been separated, I can highly recommend watching The Slumber Party Massacre while sorting out a very silly mess of your own devise.
Going through some boxes from the last move, in preparation for the next one, and if I could go back and give myself one piece of advice as I hastily packed and labeled an assortment of “crafty stuff,” it would be…don’t put fake foliage and yarn in the same box.
This, though, was a great bit of packing and labeling.
I said “one piece of advice as I hastily packed and labeled an assortment of ‘crafty stuff,’” though. Not one piece of advice as I packed and labeled everything.
Oh, that’s just the one piece of advice about this particular box.

I was out on a run and tracking the score by the number of cannon blasts.
Portland's art museum is *fantastic*.
She was doing all of this with her backside about three inches from my face, which was also not my favorite thing.

Her husband seemed lovely, actually, and the screaming was not the baby’s fault.
I was on a red eye once with a woman who kept getting out of her seat, on my side of the aisle, to check on her toddler, who was on the other side of the aisle with his dad. And by check on, I mean “Wake up.” Which would make him cry. And then she’d fuss over him until he was full-on screaming.
Between this and the attempted sour-cream-and-onion bribery in NYC, I’m going to be side-eyeing everyone’s bagged snacks and takeout containers.
Bari Weiss has now joined the crew.
Those burritos helped get me through undergrad.
I see JD “if I have to create stories” Vance is at it again.

Have a little magic and beauty today.
I used to commute from Mar Vista to Woodland Hills. People kept asking why I didn't move closer to work. Well, because I live in Mar Vista and don't want to live in Woodland Hills.
The vibes today are rancid.
