found this unfinished painting of phoenix from 2019 and it's really cool to compare it to the simpler version used in chasmhome

i kind of want to remake the painting though now that i've found it??

a white B-NOMALY with 3 beaks stacked atop each other, opening gently to reveal thin teeth within, stares with X-eyed pupils in domed eyes, walking closer in an equine stance. it looks pissed. a baby B-NOMALY is on its shoulders, also white, with similar features, but with more eyes and a blue fin on its back. the baby B-NOMALY is grinning cheekily.

I FINALLY GOT THE FEST UP SORRY I WAS UNDER THE BLUNDER

THERE IS A LARGE CHANGELOG
several creatures in a clearing, with some hay bales and a pumpkin-themed lantern behind them. in back is an odd centauric beast, mainly a dullahan, the horse's body a bright orange like a pumpkin with darker spots, with a muscular texture to the body despite the orange skin, and a vine wrapped around where the head would be. a sharp spine goes down the animal's back, interrupted in the middle by a headless, dark-skinned rider's body, making this a dullahan-nuckelavee combination, which would explain the musculature of the horse to an extent. the rider body is fat, with sharp spines and webbing making up ragged wings on their back, but otherwise just looks human, the dark spots on the horse becoming freckles on the human skin. they are holding a huge pumpkin that is orange with green and white spots, carved into a glowing jagged smile. behind the horse body, barely connected by a rigid extended spine too stiff to be a tail, is something like a hearse made of skin. this is, lucky for the human viewers, difficult to see in the shadows. little pointy legs can barely be seen at its base. to the right of the dullahan, a bright orange rixixi - a dragon-cat like alien - can be seen pawing at the pumpkin eagerly with their one good front limb, their eyes boggling excitedly. a greyish púca stands in the foreground, tut tutting with one paw-finger, unimpressed by the silliness and the dullahan's lost head.

one of the really early chasmhome iterations was Through Ravens and Songbirds, which was named that due to how birds have symbolism attached to them, and it was Dark And Edgy shit that we made late teens/early young adult
