ig at the end of the day people with a jerk streak are gonna let it show on occasion, and the topic ends up being kinda secondary. I'm happy to be well outside of it, doing my little thing, knowing that some things are not for me and that's super cool. YKINMKATO and all its adjacent parts forever!

Yeah, I suppose that makes sense; most of my fandoms have revolved around japanese media, but I never really had the opportunity to interact with or even come across japanese fans until ... well, I guess I started being active on twitter when I started writing zcl, so there we go haha

Mostly it was just weird to me to come into hoyo fandom after like 15 years of peace from the t/b wars across my last 15 hyperfixations only to find that there are still fronts where battle is actively being waged 😫 i genuinely thought those days were over

I honestly don't care what people are into but I've also had enough bad/hostile interactions with militant fixed people that I just avoid going into or especially interacting in those spaces at all, even when their pref is mine, too. I guess in the end people will be jerks about anything, lol

My current fic definitely assumes a level of knowing character backstories and general knowledge of the story so far, but it's also mostly character-driven and I have another friend who has never gone near any hoyo stuff that is following along without being too lost. :3 If you ever get curious!

But I also fully support avoiding that shit like the plague and getting the story elsewhere because gachas are *awful* predatory things and youtube is full of fantastic recaps and story consolidation videos, plus, y'know, a very thorough wiki.

It's genshin money siphoning tactics 2.0, but also I really enjoy the story (and they've hit their stride with storytelling finally too) and if you were to, say, start an account to let sit until you felt like it, you could definitely claim 2-3 free 5*, one of whom is my precious yearning son 💀
