I obviously won't argue the broader points but I do think they were still trying to win those series at the time and just got their asses handed to them. Difference being ohtani in the rotation, an otherwise healthy rotation too, and, god willing, no Michael Conforto

I probably would too but the gap between Yamamoto and Ohtani isn't especially big to me, and the off day post-pitching seems relevant. Idk.

This is weird to me given their preference to give Ohtani an off day after he pitches. Can't do that til Game 5 now. Kinda need Glasnow game 3 to get someone back to Game 7 on four days rest.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto will start Game 2 of the NLCS, Dave Roberts said. Shohei Ohtani will pitch “at some point” this series. Want to have those Snell and Yamamoto pitch twice this series.

could also go Yamamoto G2/6 and only one Ohtani start, but that would leave his start in the middle game of three in a row, and they prefer to get him a day off after a start, so G2 seems more likely.

Feels weird to go to Yamamoto in G4, but if it's one start either way, who cares
