Uncharismatic megafauna. Too fat to ride a horse, too poor to own a carriage. Buy my book, keep me off the streets: http://bit.ly/JMgibbons

A new addition ('The Woman in Cabin 10') to the surprisingly extensive Keira Knightley library, for people who only want to read books with Keira Knightley on them.
15 different books, all (but one) movie or TV tie-in titles, all with Keira Knightley on the cover.

They're coming into English thick and fast, it feels like.

To be fair, at least we can now all relax a bit.

Well I'm glad SOMEBODY is pulling their weight.

Intriguing! I'm reading it for a discussion in November, so I will get to it in reasonably timely fashion, probably.

Only bought 2 books this week, so the publishing industry is probably about to collapse.
(Translated by @shreedaisy.bsky.social and @antonhur.com)
2 books:

Khadija Mastur: The Woman's Courtyard (trans. Daisy Rockwell)
Bora Chung: The Midnight Timetable (trans. Anton hur)

(just apologising to @harrysargent2.bsky.social -- this was supposed to be me going "Isn't this interesting?" rather than me being a snotty prick)

I need to read more of her. So many writers, they need to thin the herd a bit.

THIS IS HARD. Tobias Wolff, though he hasn't published anything in ages, or Ted Chiang both spring to mind.

Nice joke you’ve got there. Be a real shame if I repeated the content of it back to you with aggressively pedantic sincerity.

Meanwhile a book of her stories seems to be Audible-only, which is wrong.

On closer inspection, you also get a slightly MORE distressed background, but a slightly less distressed lemon. It's probably some freemason thing.

Can never tell with those tricky Japanese and their I-novels

Unusually, the forthcoming book by Mieko Kawakami (which I want now, but must wait until March for) has virtually the same cover design for both the UK (Picador) and US (Knopf) editions, except that the latter has the mandated "A Novel" added by obscure US law.
Cover of SISTERS IN YELLOW by Mieko Kawakami (trans. Laurel Taylor & Hitomi Yoshio), showing a lemon in a glass on a pink and black background. Cover of SISTERS IN YELLOW by Mieko Kawakami (trans.
