They said the bouncer probably knew it was either a gang or white supremacist tattoo.

He did let the guy in, so I guess his answer was correct - but I didn't hear what it was.

I had no idea this happened, I was honestly kinda surprised. Good to learn...

I live in Seattle and go to about 30+ concerts a year (yeah, I like live music and want to support artists 🙂)

Anyway ~ I was going into a festival a couple of weeks ago, and the bouncer asked the guy in front of me about a tattoo on his hand. I didn't know why, but told my friends about it.

Would love to! I'm 59 & would be over-the-moon to have a check for colon cancer as well, but I don't have health insurance 😕 (I 'd also like to get a flu shot, but w/o insurance it's $385)

I did have a mammogram in 2022, so I think I'm okay regarding breast cancer for now, so yay on that front!

We all have different places where we draw lines; I try to understand why others draw the lines they do, as it helps me learn...

I joined Threads on day 1 & was very active. However: I knew I was giving Zuck $ every time I opened the app; & I found weird anger & no reason for it. So I left. YMMV

I don't agree w/ this position & my dissent represents periods longer than a day, b/c I feel they better represent the overall argument.

NB: "September" by 'Earth Wind and Fire' references a particular day: the 21st.

Yet I dance my bootie off every time I hear it, no matter the day or month 🙃

I do it constantly and feel no guilt!

(even though I'm a huge softy and feel so guilty about everything else in life 🙃)

I didn't know them 5 minutes before they made their nasty comment, so why should I care how my "blocking" them might hurt their feelings?

4) the dairy shop doesn't take debit or credit cards - bring cash. But she'll let you write that one check you keep tucked in your wallet (something I don't do anymore, but I used to 10 years ago...)

Once you know them - they will hook you up with the best new tunes they know of (granted, I lived there from 2015 - 2017, so they were burning CD's for me, and I'd get a couple new ones each week - not sure how this transaction would happen today - but they would...)

They will start to especially pay attention. (I love red currants, and they only have about a two week 'season' but once 'the guys' know, they'll remember)
3b) the produce dudes know the most current music - they're not 'bored' but they listen to music ALL day

And they will keep a couple pints of your favorites in the cooler for you - just slip whoever hands it to you a $5 tip every once in a while - you don't have to do it every week, but once they know you care

That is the BEST time, b/c that's when it becomes a community, and everyone talks about the game, even if you're not a super sports fan.

3a) they will learn what you like and save stuff for you - I live on berries for lunch in the summer

The first two years I lived in Seattle, I lived at Harbor Steps and did pretty much ALL my grocery shopping at Pike Place.

1) go early during the summer months before the tourist wake up
2) on game days (partly b/c there's no tourist) the market is dead, but all the vendors are listening

I've seen this sign at a few protests/events the last nine months, and honestly - I love it!

There are other wickedly funny, poignant, and profound signs that I see, and love...

But the reason this one is my favorite is that it reflects how life should be if we were just living in normal times...

From the 2018 Fremont neighborhood, Seattle, WA solstice parade.

There is a "naked bike ride" every year, but since it happens during the day, & this is open to all, most folks have body paint.

I volunteer at the Seattle Aquarium, and nudibranches are one of my favs - so I loved this rider 🐠 🙂

Is the first pic in your post of a church in Iceland?

I'm sure there are probably other small, black churches in the world, but I'm guessing it's the one I'm thinking of.

It was January when I was there. It was covered in snow, and there was no one else around - but I think it's the same place.
