That store was so much fun although I could not afford the clothes.
Feeling sentimental and remembering Millie. My Japanese Chin rescued from hoarder/puppy mill at 13. She learned how to be a dog, barked after 2 years, lived to 17, so many health problems she was by far the most expensive dog I ever owned.

I’m doing research for a project and found out about the “don’t buy where you can’t work” movement during the depression, where Black people boycotted and picketed places that wouldn’t hire us. Shout out to everyone who’s not going back to Target!

“Don’t Buy Where You Can’t Work” campaigns of the 1930s used effective direct-action tactics, such as boycotts and picketing.

Voted straight D the first day.
Hashimi: The individual I’m running against has repeatedly said he wants to close all public schools. And you know what’s really ironic? He’s an openly gay man who has also said he doesn’t support marriage equality…

And as I’ve said: I’m ready to fight for his rights, even if he’s not.

Directed and co-written by Luchino Visconti - 1906

This is the first Visconti film I remember seeing. I caught it at the Public Theater in NYC in early 1992, back when they used to show movies.
Her hands make me wonder if she is one of the Orange Vandal’s ancestors.

My younger sister has been on dialysis three times a week for four years. Last year she had two toes amputated. Her quality of life is horrible, in constant pain, stays in bed all the time. I used to try to get her to eat better but finally decided that she has so little pleasure in her life why not
Such fun. My first BlueSky in person knitting and sharing friend. @Spookyduds took a great selfie.
First meetup with a Bluesky mutual! @cateknit.bsky.social is awesome and I can't wait to hang out and knit again.
Is this the place you discovered recently?

Yarn-bombing is thought to have originated in Texas USA, instigated by clothes-shop owner Magda Sayeg and a group known as Knitta Please, who began the "knit graffiti" movement to brighten up public spaces as a form of street art #Womensart

If judges can refuse to officiate gay weddings, gay defendants should be able to refuse to be heard by those judges. If they can’t be compelled to perform the most heteronormative of functions, why would anyone believe they are capable of putting their biases aside for something with higher stakes?
