And just a ton of nannies were running with strollers downtown and eventually slowed down after a few blocks and rushed home. She played a voice note from one of them crying and sharing the story. It's so so scary.

My nanny Bea told us the scariest story. Her nanny friend was at the park yesterday and a ton of Americans came running and yelled "RUN, RUN" as ICE was coming. Her friend needed to get her things for the baby, and another woman with her papers on her said, "I got all of it, GO."

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?
