SCOTUS looks ready to erase another key piece of the Voting Rights Act, this time by striking down Louisiana’s Black-majority district for “relying too much on race.” Let me translate…they’re opening the door for states to erase Black and Latino districts that usually vote blue.

Today would have been George Floyd’s 52nd birthday.

His murder while people looked on is forever burned in my mind.

The murder of a Black man by a white cop over allegations of a fake $20 is the sentence given to Black Americans. No jury, no judge, murder.

He cried out for his mom and died.

Nobody is saying that George Floyd was a hero. He was a victim of a lynching by a police officer and that crime started a movement that changed the world, for a time. Why are you people so hateful you can't even have sympathy for a murdered man? If he was a dog, you'd be in tears.

Never happened buddy. At worst, the Irish were indentured servants. They only had to work for a certain amount of time and then they were free. They were free to marry. Their children were born free and US citizens. And the Irish were free to lynch Black people, see: NY Draft Riots.
