It's completely valid to celebrate NOLA's first Latine mayor. And the field of candidates was ABYSMAL. Was Moreno the best choice of the options? Yes. Is she the progressive savior she's made out to be? Absolutely not.

Her "peace resolution" for Gaza had the backing of the ADL, and she ignored hours of testimony from community folks & Palestinian voices. Plus, she was part of leaving those men's bodies hanging off the Hard Rock for a YEAR with still no justice to this day.

Don't kid yourself: Moreno is not progressive. She frames herself as the fresh face of change, but she's been on City Council for almost a decade & cozies up to the elite. Her campaign got tons of money from developers and engineering PACs & her dad is president of a petrochemical company.

Since the Guardians lost, I've been pulling for a Mariners/Brewers World Series. So glad the Mariners pulled out that win! At least the Yankees are out 😝 Now whoever wins between the Cubs/Brewers needs to take out the Dodgers, & whoever is in the Series will at least be fun!
