I am very open to believe, especially in national security cases, that undue pressure can be exerted by the executive, but the published third witness statement counters such a conspiracy.

That is not a witness statement which would compromise a case but substantiate it.
Chute has changed my life. Also concierge. Feel my privelege like a queen. Though, now I think about it, the queen probably has a footman to use the chute.
Time for senior lawyers to brush up their CVs. I think we'll be looking for a new DPP before the end of the week.

I have B2 German and it is not good enough to get skilled work in Germany (even though theoretisch it should be).
It’s mostly the gvmnt’s fault over their choice of words, but no, ministers are not (despite what much of BlueSky thinks) requiring migrants to have an English A-level. They are requiring B2 level English skills, which is what you have in French if you have A-level French. www.gov.uk/government/n...
Migrants will be required to pass A Level standard of English
Migrants will be required to pass tough new English language requirements under a law introduced in Parliament today.

I do wonder how people with such clearly inflexible and heartfelt views as Corbyn and Sultana could ever believe that outsourcing all the policy positions they're going to advocate for to other people is ever going to work.

His Majesty King Charles III has announced that he will host German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Büdenbender for a State Visit from 3-5 December. It will be an incredible moment for 🇬🇧🇩🇪 relations and the first State Visit by a German President in 27 years.

They have, *genuinely*, no thoughts whatsoever about maybe why the civil service increased dramatically in size during and after Brexit? Nothing occurring to them? Just the loose purse-strings and reckless state spending overindulgence of the Conservative Governments of the 2010s?
I feel this is the point where I drop all understanding of SYW. Whatever her own issues, at the point where she knew about your daughter's disability and how she'd made you feel, she should have apologised.
I'm tending that way. She wrote such a good analysis of the 2017 election and I thought she'd make a great education sec, though has not shone in the role so far.
Does it matter who I vote for in the Deputy Leader election 🤷?

The Conservatives have pledged they will increase the number of deportations to 150k/year

- while significantly reducing the size of the civil service
- without increasing government spending and taxation.
- and opposing mandatory identification.

Calling English a 'rip-off degree' is one of the most blatant exhibitions of personal barbarism I've ever seen. You've demonstrated nothing but the poverty of your own mind.
Sadly doesn't surprise me. It has changed quite a lot in those 10 years - never imagined Green Party would be so successful - but racism and ignorance is still there.
He doesn't want areas where there is a 'preponderance' of one race over another. My kids school in rural Suffolk had one black family in a school of 1200 pupils. But that's not what he means, is it?
Wow. Robert Jenrick doubles down by branding a black journalist's questions "ridiculous" and saying that the problem is not his comments, but "journalists like you who pop up and try to knock me down", adding that "this is the reason why terrorist attacks happen". ~AA

The rhetoric rots those roots; ILR and citizenship nourish them. The NHS and other sectors are held together by 'foreign' workers and we'll all suffer if they are driven away to more welcoming places.

Tbh, the whole anti-migrant rhetoric is already making my friends on ILR look at moving.

Of course, they’re all the ones with the money and talent *to* move. Which isn’t what politicians are selling as the consequence of ILR-bashing. But it’s what will happen.
The 10 year wait for Indefinite Leave to Remain will make the UK very unattractive for high skilled workers who often have alternatives. 2019 data (excluding the NHS and universities) shows that high skilled workers on visas are heavily concentrated in multinationals who can move jobs abroad (5/x)
Asking you to give it a rest for a weekend while so many are preoccupied with grief and fear is not an infringement of your human rights, it is actually an appeal to your humanity. Be kind.

35 years ago, Germany received its greatest gift: reunification – less than a year after the Berlin Wall fell.

Thanks to the unshakeable will of East German people and our allies' support, Germany and Europe changed for the better.

Today is a day of joy, recollection and encouragement.
