It will have been almost 17 years since Drag Me to Hell when this releases. A truly unacceptable length of time to go between proper leash-less Sam Raimi films.

Definitely not jealous of you at all or annoyed with the band for still failing to announce any UK dates. No siree.

You can't logic your way out of being burnt out. Unless you're me. Who should be able to do it and it's a personal failing that I can't
calliepetch.bsky.social
Why of course I do and am definitely not starstruck-geeking at the offer whatsoever!

Like, I know that it just won't hit the same on this app, cos the algorithms are different and we're a little less dense than over there, but I still miss it all the same; the sheer fury from those people and their refusal to just take an L is so goddamn hilarious.

She's been doing this on there since at least Harold and the Purple Crayon and every single time people fall for and get SO MAD about it. It's hilarious. [3/3]

"...and yet when we finally get a truly original piece of blockbuster cinema like [x film] you let it flop. Don’t blame me when studios stop funding passion projects like this."

The flourish is when someone asks if the film is good and she always responds "oh, I don't know. I didn't see it." [2/3]

So, whenever a big and notably reviled franchise film (sequel, reboot, adaptation, etc.) bombs spectacularly opening weekend, Emily always quote-tweets with the same copypasta:

"Film Twitter always bemoans the lack of creativity in Hollywood and superhero fatigue..." [1/3]

I have finally made the jump from Spotify to Apple Music, which means I now get to spend the next few months of my free trial having to re-learn how to do basic things like "cast from app to wireless speakers/TV." Isn't modern technology grand?

This is how I realise that, once again, the greatest Film Twitter running joke of the last three years hasn't made the jump off the hellsite. I feel so deprived.

At least tell me they're still falling for it?

Can't be eatin' omakase in the middle of the street
NOOOOOOOOO!

It's the palpable irritation they often get when being asked the question which really annoys me, like they both don't and refuse to understand why they're being called out on this as if it's our fault.

I feel like the death(/murder?) of regional programming/productions is just as much a factor in the disappearance of arts and criticism on TV nowadays.

(Plus, there's no good reason why Film [x year] can't exist. It has to be super-cheap to make, less than another goddamn daytime property show.)

Miss Major Griffin-Gracy passed away today according to the House of GG. She was a veteran of the Stonewall rebellion and a lifelong organizer for the safety and dignity of trans people, sex workers, and the incarcerated. She came from the same generation and milieu as Marsha and Sylvia. She was 78.

A++ pun. That's why Nick pays you the big bucks.

Keeping it vague, but I honestly believe this season of Peacemaker has done a better job at weaving fiery political rhetorical/exploitation into a personal drama about family than One Battle After Another managed.

I will elaborate on this scorching hot take for any outlet willing to pay me money.

I mean, isn't that just the Showtime modus operandi? (Homeland, Dexter, Weeds, Billions, et al)

"It couldn't happen here" is always the last thing said before it actually does. Stay vigilant, y'all.

The right-wing campaign group that helped topple Roe v Wade in the US is now working to roll back abortion laws in the UK, with the help of Nigel Farage.

Its first step? Trying to create a debate around "free speech"
