96 working days for Tavistock and Portman to respond to my complaint, and it more or less amounts to "yeah we lied to the coroner, we aren't doing shit to prevent future deaths of people on the waiting list."

You'd think I would have learned not to be surprised by this point.

As a constituent of hers she's been... somewhat lacklustre in my experience, although this has been largely before she was made the LD equalities spokesperson. Very generic platitudes in the aftermath of the April ruling, general reassurances but nothing specific. I'm sure you can imagine.

We also need an inquiry into how the EHRC has been allowed to be captured by bigoted ideologues, and why the govt has chosen to overrule two parliamentary committees in appointing another bigot to chair, ensuring the EHRC does not meet the Paris Principles of NHRIs.

We need the Equality Act to be amended so that it is compatible with the HRA and the ECHR.

If his police experience is anything like mine, he’ll report it and give his account. The police will say “yeah we have it on cctv, clear shot of the guy. Anyway that’s us done, have a good one.” And nothing further will happen.

This is horrible, and as Mothin himself has said that transphobes and racists are so often one of the same- this mirrors far too frequent experiences of my own. Replace p*ki with tr*nny and comments about deportation with being called a nonce, and it’s something I have experienced all too often.

Can you press the government to actually ensure that domestic law (the Equality Act) is actually compatible with convention law, per the HRA?

It currently isn’t, and I don’t know why they aren’t being hammered on the human rights breaches by a human rights lawyer PM at every opportunity.

Will you be pressing the government on how it has, under the leadership of a human rights lawyer, allowed the UK to fall afoul of its human rights obligations?

We are currently in violation of Goodwin. Please use your influence to remedy this as a priority, and ensure we follow the ECHR in full.

Does transphobia have a place in yours? Given the exclusionary and segregationist policies you’ve quietly enacted on the eve of internal election ballots being sent out, it appears so. Where is the condemnation for all forms of bigotry and prejudice? Or is one just a bit more acceptable than others?

I’m not sure we need to be fair to people enacting transphobic acts, regardless of whether or not they were ‘just following orders’.

It’s disgusting and needs to be called out as unacceptable under the strongest terms.
