Please, when do we get to the "accountability for real-world outcomes" stage of the AI world?

" In an AI saturated world, premium skills are distinctly human: verification of sources, contextual decision-making, ethical reasoning under ambiguity, and accountability for real-world outcomes."

Wow. Just wow.

"Students pay premium prices for information that AI now delivers instantly and for free. A business student can ask ChatGPT to explain supply chain optimization or generate market analysis in seconds. The traditional lecture-and-test model faces its Blockbuster moment."

What’s the difference between information and knowledge? Hint: a LLM might contain information, but it doesn’t know a damn thing.

ICE is planning to hire contractors to run an around-the-clock social media surveillance program to track our every move.

If you think this will just be used for deportations - think again.

This is a violation of every single American’s privacy.

Wix going all "use text marquee to add scrolling effect to content you want to highlight", how about, no? This is an accessibility nightmare, there's a reason the HTML marquee tag was removed.
Also, scroll animations, again, please no. Or at least, respect prefers-reduced motion.

Arrived slightly late, but 23 hours and 45 minutes early! It’s tomorrow.

The good news is you’ve still got a chance to book this ace free event.

And I’m on my way to the Barbican. 😊

Disappointed with Boots Appliances online order user experience.

Apart from the typo (Procdut Description), the form had title and DOB as required fields – also gender, for which they only give Male or Female as options.

Have they never heard of GDPR or the Equality Act 2010?

Given all that, I wouldn't bet on AI leading to an era of 3-day week for all. Even if it does, the US is the last place I would expect to see it. Still: the dystopian outcome where the rich get richer and the masses are left to subsist on a basic income might also be good for video games companies.

(South Korea is interesting because it industrialised later, so working hours have declined more steeply in this era. The Netherlands is interesting because it shows a different balance of work & leisure is possible: they are pretty much moving to a 4-day week by stealth www.ft.com/content/7b61...)
The Dutch are quietly shifting towards a four-day work week
The Netherlands serves as a case study for the advantages and trade-offs of reduced hours in the workplace

On this third: the decline in working hours has slowed massively in most countries in recent decades, and in the US, has completely stopped since the 1970s (in spite of rising productivity since then). Americans don't even take all their (meagre) holiday allowances.

Purrfect! What nice pusscats! Hazel has started to do that when the blinds are down. She loves keeping watch over goings on (even if to the human eye nothing appears to be happening).

I keep sugar packets now and then… These are beautiful, I’m sure there may be someone who collects “seriously”. Have you looked on eBay? You could even contact a local auction house – they give free advice and valuations.
Otherwise, could post on Facebook Marketplace for £0 or to a giveaway group.

Happiness is a cat who at last begins to independently use the cat flap you installed for them. It has taken a lot of treats, adjustments, and encouragement.

1. Can you spot the typo?
2. If so, would this put you off?

Context: buying a household appliance from a generally trusted, high street brand name supplier.

I got the best one! 🎉 🎉 🎉 Such an interesting area of policy actualisation. More details to follow. Plus, I can still Elf as it's p-t.

I've now been contacted about 2 actual content design and strategy roles. 😅 Must have been some magic dust from my Elf application!

(Either that or posting links to my portfolio, past clients and blog posts on projects I've worked on to LinkedIn today. I'd like to think the former though.)
