Today's kindness upgrade is waking up early to meet with the DCYF about our resource family certification, and the yelling at electeds I said I'd do yesterday and lost in a haze of chores, as will occasionally happen. It's OK to stumble, just keep moving forward. <3

Everything I am still mad about is totally reasonable.
Even the con six years ago where a guy at the front desk couldn’t find our registration, insisted that was our mistake not his, and when someone else stepped in and found it just wandered away. We got it fixed, so why do I still kinda hate him?

I bought some bagels at Hy-Vee four years ago. So bad. Too big. Hard. Bland. WORTHLESS.

Thanks to the magic of free-with-ads streaming I found a movie that I only knew about because I used to peruse the horror aisle at our local video store while my parents checked out. The cover haunted me and I was sure it was terrifying. I’ve put it on, and learned it’s a Troma production. Lol.

Cooking: Air-fryer sweet potatoes are lovely, but they need something, a sauce or something to put on after. We're currently thinking a chimichurri or a romesco, I'm going to see what I can find. (Honey or maple is classic, but blood sugar management means we try not to use too many sugar sauces.)

Writing: I almost have a scene map! I'm hitting the point where the ideas are flying faster than I can write them down, which is a huge high but which I wish didn't always come after the week where I'm sure I'm out of ideas and done writing forever.

2/ The noise will pass in time, thankfully. The writing stuff...well, that's a project for therapy. All I can say for sure is "boy, an unplanned 6 year gap in novel sales during which I had to leave my agent and the industry appears to be growing increasingly inhospitable sure is something!"

I'm pretty decent. I had a relaxing weekend after the Trigger Parade of adoption class. My biggest stressors right now are the massive amounts of noise coming from the repairs going on in our basement, and worrying about trying to be an author in the year of our glob 2025.

We had to choose one console to stick with due to the limits of our time and budget, and this stuff from Sony and Msoft is a nontrivial contributor to why we went Nintendo.
Not that they are free from sin but they still at least, like, have a game library.
