Republicans refuse to work while Americans lose critical jobs, health access, and essential services.

Their shutdown continues. $15 billion is drained from the economy weekly, federal workers are left unpaid, CDC scientists are fired, and vital programs like special education are being gutted.

Early voting is off to a slow start, with only 764 ballots cast so far and just 0.12% of absentee ballots returned. But that just means there’s plenty of room for us to make a difference.

NEW: There’s a disaster unfolding in Alaska right now. And no major network is covering it.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

At least 20 are missing. No comment from any federal agency.
