If Teppic had been raised in Djelibeybi then he and Ptraci would absolutely have ended up together, but he'd spent too much time in Ankh-Morpork and so the idea of incestuous royal relationships wasn't normal to him anymore. Just like it was normal to the ancient Egyptian ruling families.

I get the feeling that Terry preferred to go from 'are not together' to 'are a couple' and just sort of... skip the messy bit in between. He didn't seem to even really want to deal with the major romances of Carrot/Angua or Vimes/Sybil, just letting them sort of... happen.

And even if all the brown people were gone it would be the English against the Irish, Scots and Welsh, and then we'd be back to the Christians agaist everyone else, and then the Protestants against the Catholics....

If you were a farm worker in the 1790's you didn't really get a choice about sensory hell, you put on your smock and you went out to herd the sheep. Also it wasn't a close-fitting garment, more like a unisex tunic-dress thing that you wore over your chemise and either skirts or pants.

When I was a little kid smocking was popular for little kid clothes because we didn't grow out of it so fast. This was, of course, after the invention of shirring elastic, which kicked it up another level.

Given that it made for, what, four times the density of fabric in some very hard-wearing areas, it also meant that the garment would be expected to live through a lot of hard work. Smocks were clothes for working people, farmers, milkmaids, carters and the like.

People used to put it on garments where the wearer would be expected to grow - shoulders, arms, back and chest, especially. And then when the wearer DID grow, they'd cut the stitches and iron out the pleats and the smock would last a lot longer! 1/2

Hot tip: The floss is not meant to be used as it comes, it's six seperate threads in one and the pattern will tell you how many you need. Usually two for the crosses and one for outlines.

I think it's funny that everyone who draws Hongjoong with animal ears has apparently never seen a squirrel, and especially never a red squirrel

squirrel ears are a bit pointed. red squirrel ears have dramatic black tufts of fur on them. They would look so cool on him.

RED STUFF:
- sauteed onions + garlic
- mince/quorn mince
- whatever beans, veggies you have on hand, frozen and canned are fine
- canned tomatoes and/or puree
- spices to taste, can be made into chili
- serve over rice/potatoes/pasta, or under cheesy mash or potato waffles with cheese melted on top.

I keep meaning to, but I don't have a real worktable, let alone the storage space for the finished product. Maybe if I can make something held together with magnets that I can take apart and mix and match?
