Mo. officially killed Lance Shockley even though there's no direct evidence or eyewitnesses tying him to crime scene, egregious misconduct by jury foreman, & jury didn't sentence him to die. And he was inspirational leader ministering to others in prison.

The Impending Execution of a Prison Pastor
Imagine that through a series of harrowing life events, you find yourself sent to a maximum security prison.

Trump talks about how Kirk really was instead of whitewashed image we've been given since his murder. Kirk was like Trump more than like Christ

Trump on Charlie Kirk: "He was able to fight people that were enemies. And he didn't necessarily love those enemies so much. You know, I heard 'he loved his enemies' and I said, 'Wait a minute, is that the same Charlie that I knew? I'm not sure.' But I didn't want to get into it."

Mo Gov. Kehoe insists he's "pro-life" even as he prepares to execute a prison pastor tonight (www.firstalert4.com/2025/10/14/m...). Kehoe also says he's Catholic, so words of Pope seem relevant: "Someone who says, 'I'm against abortion but I'm in favor of the death penalty,' is not really pro-life."

Yesterday, Missouri Gov. Mike Kehoe, a Catholic who has called himself “pro-life,” announced he would not grant Lance Shockley clemency.

In a flurry of recent legal filings, the Department of Corrections and Shockley’s team sparred over his spiritual advisor choice ahead of tonight’s execution.
Missouri Blocks Spiritual Advisor Request for Prison Pastor’s Execution

“We’re saving God” is quite a claim.

Eric Trump: "We're saving Christianity. We've saving God. We've saving the family unit. We're saving this nation. I mean, DEI is out of the window, Benny. You no longer have Colin Kaepernick kneeling for the national anthem. You no longer have Budweiser going woke as hell. All of this is dead."

Johnson will read prayers & Bible passages to show off his faith but doesn't think it's a problem for federal agents to shoot a praying pastor with a pepper ball? That's what we mean when we say Christian Nationalism co-opts sacred texts but is really just about power (bookshop.org/a/110819/978...).

Q: We've seen images out of Chicago of federal agents shooting faith leaders with pepper balls and arresting journalists. Where's the limit for you on what's acceptable conduct by federal agents?

MIKE JOHNSON: I've not seen them cross the line yet.

The Missouri Department of Corrections falsely claims they have not previously denied a spiritual advisor request and complains that spiritual chaplains during previous executions spoke to reporters about the experience (including a citation to one of our pieces that MDOC alleges is inappropriate).

I wonder if all the people braying about the "war on Christianity" might raise some objections if it were a *Democratic* administration who had its armed thugs shooting priests in the head with pepper balls and waiting outside Catholic Churches to disappear parishioners?

Here's what Pope Leo XIV said recently about those who are pro-death penalty (& Gov. Kehoe is Catholic): "Someone who says, 'I'm against abortion but I'm in favor of the death penalty,' is not really pro-life." www.thetablet.co.uk/news/pope-le...

Mo. Gov. Mike Kehoe denies clemency for Lance Shockley, who's scheduled to be executed tomorrow despite innocence claim, fact that jury didn't give capital sentence, & years of ministering to others in prison (publicwitness.wordandway.org/p/the-impend...). Kehoe can no longer call himself "pro-life"

Last week I broke the story about the 1st public school chaplain in Florida (publicwitness.wordandway.org/p/pastor-pus...). Glad to see someone else see this is newsworthy. It's troubling to see lack of media attention to how the school "chaplain" laws are being implemented on the ground level.

Florida’s first "school chaplain" under Gov. Ron DeSantis’ new law isn’t a counselor at all.

He’s a Jan. 6 supporter with extremist views, and he urges parents to avoid public education.

This program is already a disaster.

Florida's first public school chaplain is a Jan. 6 supporter—and a warning to everyone
The appointment of Rev. Jack Martin shows how Florida's chaplain law has become a Trojan horse for Christian Nationalism in public schools
