❌👑 Hang in there - it’ll probably get better eventually. I hope.

Those are the hopeless ones - but even farmers can do math. They can see what Trump’s policies are doing to their ability to operate and market their products. So offer clearly better and explain how it’ll BE better. Keep their hospitals open. Fund Medicaid. Whatever. Make the Democratic case.
Yes - that’s a weekly rotation thing. I was the lead ATC investigator of five, worked on a bunch of major accidents and hundreds of GA accidents/incidents plus processing TCAS reports, taught in the NTSB Academy courses, and did a lot of safety training and briefings for controllers.
…it’s going to take some work to bring over Senators from those 2R states, but without that, holding a majority will be tough, much less getting past a filibuster.
Maybe - there are certainly hopeless cases, but Dems need to have a case for why people who have been kicked in the teeth by Trump would be better off voting democratic. Far as I can tell, they don’t even try.Right now there are 25 states with 2R senators, 21 with 2D, and 4 with a mix…
Good governance has to be seen as achievable by those you’re trying to win over. The Dems are pretty good at preaching to the choir, not so much at giving a Missouri farmer reasons to vote Democratic. They need to flip some red state Senate seats to have a chance of a sustainable majority.
“Trump Sucks!” is a given - but the Dems still have to earn votes with policies of their own. People need to vote for you, not just against the other guy, whoever it is.
Yes, I was an NTSB investigator for 20 years and a center controller before that. Alyse started out at Chautauqua in RJs , then NTSB flight ops investigations, then the UPS management pilot track. This is really going to hit her hard - you’re right, it’s a very tight group.
Got turned down by the Heritage Society, did he?
One of my former NTSB friends is UPS chief pilot at SDF. She’s one of the kindest, nicest people I know - I’m sure this is the worst day of her life. But they’re lucky to have her involved.
It’s actually No Kings 4 - the first one was in 1776.
Not to be focusing on the minutia of a tragedy, but it’s more likely 230,000 pounds of fuel. Total capacity of an MD-11 is about 40,000 gallons. 230,000 pounds is about 34,000 gallons of jet fuel.
Having politicians design elections to ensure their opponents votes don’t matter is only marginally better…
Maybe because she’s a right-wing gun-waving MAGA nutbag? Just a guess…
And there are several ways of protecting Social Security solvency, none of which are being implemented by Republicans.
The lounge reading racks have been full of fourth-tier stuff for years - mostly thinly disguised promo materials. You’re not going to find “The Economist” and “Foreign Affairs” in there…
Pretty short period of mourning, seems like…
I found writing a letter to our local office was pretty effective. I explained what I needed, enclosed the right form, and got a response back in 10 days. All fixed.
That’s the problem with these hiring binges. They often lead to cutting corners on background checks and other vetting, resulting some bad hires. The DC department got bit by that a while back and it took years to recover.

I know everybody gets a ton of these, but Alysa is a great candidate running for Congress for the area around Greensboro, NC. She’s a retired federal employee and would be a very solid Representative with a lot of knowledge to apply. Even a few bucks will help!

No kidding. What a sniveling little twerp.
He wasn’t going to destroy the East Wing, either…
