My best friend for forever used to say "I'm not a conservative, I'm a libertarian" and was the first conspiracy nut I ever knew

But he always voted Republican and parroted Fox News talking points that his dad spoon fed him (and then later, after getting married, that his wife would feed him)

So, as a fan of the old AEW Dark era of things, I have so much nostalgia for them as a duo

But also, as someone who has watched constantly since then, I've seen a combination of injuries and Tay's pregnancy more or less limit them to two dozen tag matches in five years which doesn't help them

Brock walking broke Vince's brain and caused two decades of "Nobody can be bigger than the company" and only pushing John Cena and then Roman while everyone else was just a guy, and ingrained it so deep into the culture that Triple Paul just effortlessly continues it

I went to one of their first on the road PPVs

Which meant I was there live for the Blindfold match in a cage and the Electrified one later in the show where they just turned the house lights off and on and played sound effects over the loud speakers whenever someone touched it

I had a smoking bud back in college who went from "guy who gave us a ROOR when he quit" to "guy who demanded it back to sell it" to "guy who graduated and then went and joined the IDF" to "guy who questioned why his non-Israel friends refused to speak to him when he got home while he spat out hate"

We got our numbers for Event Horizon: Dark Descent #3 & something has happened that has never happened with any of my comics in almost 20 years. Our numbers are up from #2 (& #2 only had a small drop off from #1). I’m absolutely thrilled!
