Finally, the aesthetic of Booktubers goes through a typical profile. A young woman between 15 and 25 years old, with glasses. Although this typical profile is a reality, more and more men also talk about books, and new older profiles appear, bringing diversity into the community!

The graphics also matter enormously through the video thumbnails which are an intrinsic element of YouTube. The thumbnails are often a stereotype of reading with a lot of books in the arms of the influencer, a library in the background, a title explaining the content of the video.

The decor is also important. For Aurélie Lebeau, the backgrounds are similar: a library. It allows one to know many things such as the fact that we are talking about books, the literary tastes, the personal aesthetic of the Booktuber… It is part of the culture of the intimate.

For some, the format holds an important place. It can take several aspects: the personas (ex: Miss Book), the documentary form (ex: Le Mock).
These two ways of making videos allow complementarity. After all, the videos made have the same objective: to make people want to read!

Finalement, l'esthétique des Booktubeurs passe par un profil type. Une jeune femme entre 15 et 25 ans, avec des lunettes. Bien que ce profil type soit une réalité, de plus en plus d'homme parle aussi de livre et de nouveau profils plus âgés apparaissent, amenant une diversité dans la communauté !

Le graphique importe aussi énormément via les miniatures de vidéos qui sont un élément intrinsèque de Youtube. Les miniatures sont souvent un stéréotype de la lecture avec énormément de livres dans les bras de l'influenceuse, une bibliothèque en fond, un titre expliquant les propos de la vidéo.

Le décor est aussi important. Pour Aurélie Lebeau, les arrière-plans sont similaires : une bibliothèque. Elle permet de savoir beaucoup de chose comme le fait qu'on parle de livre, les goûts littéraires, l'esthétique personnel du Booktubeurs… Cela fait partie de la culture de l'intime.

Challenges are an integral part of the Booktube community, and this challenge is only one among many others. Challenges bring people together and create a new enthusiasm for the Booktuber’s community. For the community, it is a tool of socialization and of self-surpassing through the game.

The goal of the challenge, in addition to being friendly, is to win the titles awarded after a certain number of validated categories. To talk about the challenge, a Discord server is available to be able to discuss, get ideas for one’s challenge, or even to do the challenge with several people.

This longevity has allowed the challenge to gain popularity among the Booktube community. Many literary influencers then share their To Be Read pile (TBR) dedicated to the challenge where each book allows them to check off a category from each set, sharing their reading with their community.

The Pumpkin Autumn Challenge is the most important one in autumn. It takes place from 1/09 to 30/11. It proposes 4 “boards” representing autumn where 4 sets of keywords are proposed. For each set, everyone chooses a book to read. It has been created by Le Terrier de Guimause for 9 years.
