I’m a bass playing, boat building grandad. I follow the ‘train-wreck’ that is AusPol with a macabre interest. Born, lived worked Bunurong all my life. Wish we had more than the last 200yrs of history folded into our culture.

Fucking pathetic. More seats than the seatiest parliament ever, the LNP opposition reduced to less than irrelevant… and still they fold. Don’t vote for them any more ffs #AusPol

Warnings about how to avoid a paper trail that might later be accessed by an FOI request are part of the induction kit for new political staffers. Even the acronym has its own crude nickname in the ministerial wing: “FOI. Fuck Off Idiot.” satpa.pe/zPB9QFA
Inside Albanese’s FOI reforms: ‘He hates transparency’
Labor’s reforms to freedom of information laws are opposed by every public submission made to the Senate, with the government’s record on secrecy worse than Scott Morrison’s.

An utterly shameful list of murderous, ecocidal, omnicidal acts by a government that loves to claim it cares

The strategy of trying to get Labor and the bureaucracy to act is an abject failure. Government is a failed institution, most clearly when it comes to climate.

Time to build the next system
Labor’s slate for fossil fuel approvals
The Albanese government has already approved 31 fossil fuel projects, and more than that are waiting, even as renewables overtake coal as the top source of electricity.

Given a choice between protecting its citizens from harm, or protecting those who inflict the harm, @albomp.bsky.social chooses the latter every time.

Every time the government accepts money from the gambling industry, it increases its debts to companies whose business models are based on preying on young and vulnerable people, and doing them harm.

The Albanese government does this again and again.

The Aust Parliament Sports Club (the one that ditched David Pocock) is now formally registered as a lobby group👇🏽

Anthony Albanese is the President of the Aust Parliament Sports Club.

That means the Prime Minister of Australia is currently the president of a lobby group.

Just utterly unbelievable.

I agree, I’m jack of our supposed #AusPol reps lapping up and making decisions on lobbyists bullshit. You’re right, it’s nothing short of corruption imo.
Albos platitudes are pitiful.

This is seriously beyond parody… an elite Australian sports person and Senator kicked out of the parliamentary sports club for not sufficiently brown nosing the gambling lobby. If that doesn’t illustrate where we are, nothing will #AusPol

The gambling industry is predatory and insidious.

I quit the Parliamentary Sports Club a few weeks ago, when I discovered it had registered as a lobbyist group and was sponsored by the gambling peak body.

The industry will do anything to wield influence on pollies, and hates being called out.
