The YA publishing crisis isn’t that we need more mature YA books or a Mature YA label, it’s that we need more YA books published for teens of all ages and less YA books published as YA but also wanting to reach Adult audiences. Adults have plenty of books published for them.

My son works on the research side of public health, so I can say with certainty that all NIH funded research is currently in jeopardy. Last week his office was notified by the CDC that there can be no mention of gender in publications.

This should be a reminder to universities that canceling your initiatives aimed at minorities, asking your faculty and students to curb research on "divisive" topics, and shuttering your gender studies programs won't stop this administration from attacking you. Stick up for academic independence.
