Ack. But I think I kind of like them like this. Artsy. The red showing through with the darker frayed edges is interesting visually. If it’s acrylic yarn you could singe to keep from running ladders.

I got through the fourth chart and the fourth decrease row, so now I'm down to 331 stitches per row from the original cast on of 547. Five more charts to go.

I also have a cat and limited space.
Wide screen TV box cardboard or other big box items work fantastic. Thats what I used to use.
If it’s thick and pinned good enough it can stand up along a wall behind something.
The bed is ok if you can close the door, but dry by bedtime is not guaranteed. 😁

A legit question, gets a legit answer. Sometimes a st can be tweaked to work in the other direction - or look very close.
Sometimes no - but I try anyway.
Wish these would, way easier to calculate yarn and adjust size.

Pasting a previous post to someone else. 😃 the top one, the 260 is my all time fav. Hitomi has a few out (she is the best!) - some only in Japanese editions but most have less expensive US editions out now. The 260 and 250 ARE different with total different content.

I use the Japanese dictionaries by Hitomi Shida the most. With your wrapped tbl ribs accents it will be right up your alley. Inter library loan or Tuttle publ has US v.s that go on sale for around 17.
I also grab vintage machine knit stuff from Pinterest, needs translation and mods to hand

Each of these has different stitches inside though titles are similar.

😜 glutton for punishment. Does need to be outward in = the way the scales behave, they actually overlap slightly. Trust me I tried endless times to get it worked out top down after I got them to look how I wanted. Months. If you swap it it looks/lays like artichoke leaves. See c/up pic of flip.

The small blurry things on the bottom row and far right columns are numbering for row/column counts the greyed out are ‘no stitches’ the pattern repeat is 18 st 24 r the chart has extra partial rep shown for symmetry in final repeat

That was my initial thought too! Especially in these colors. I have a pale pinky orange one and that one says to me double burger 🍔. Maybe I’m just hungry?
