Its a death cult of paranoid oligarchs.
blackballer.bsky.social

thiel, man, what the fuck are you talking about

He describes the plot of Watchmen, a 1986 graphic novel involving superheroes grappling with moral questions about humanity against the backdrop of impending nuclear war:

The antihero Ozymandias, the antichrist-type figure, is sort of an early-modern person. He believes this will be a timeless and eternal solution – eternal world peace. Moore is sort of a late-modern. In early modernity, you have ideal solutions, ‘perfect’ solutions to calculus. In late modernity, things are sort of probabilistic. And at some point, he asks Dr Manhattan whether the world government is going to last. And he says that ‘nothing lasts forever.’ So you embrace the antichrist and it still doesn’t work.

Thiel later finds biblical meaning in the manga One Piece, discussing how he believes it represents a future where an antichrist-like one-world government has repressed science. He believes that the hero, Monkey D Luffy, represents a Christlike figure.

In One Piece, you are set in a fantasy world, again sort of an alternate earth, but it’s 800 years into the reign of this one-world state. Which, as the story unfolds, gradually gets darker and darker. You sort of realize, in my interpretation, who runs the world and it’s something like the antichrist. There’s Luffy, a pirate who wears a red straw hat, sort of like Christ’s crown of thorns. And then towards the end of the story, transforms into a figure who resembles Christ in Revelation.

Thiel, along with a researcher and writer at Thiel Capital, explored these ideas at greater length in an essay for the religious journal First Things earlier this month.

brand advertising has reflected this. the middle is disappearing and its either move upmarket and compete for the 10% or go low and wide. tariffs and brands capitulating to right wing demands has also really fucked a lot of this.

It has definitely shown up in some consumer products, especially more expensive ones like cars.

They are catering to the top of the market because that's who's buying.

Theyre pricing you out of existence, and theyre preparing for a world where the majority live in poverty in western nations. A new serfdom.

And the tech industry, desperate for something to save them from the looming AI bubble, will gladly offer their services to whatever will get them sweet sweet government dollars.

In an economy where your value is determined by how much you consume, those who can't spend become subhuman. So think about how homeless people are treated now, and expand that to the bottom 50%.

Dangerous for the 10%. Thankfully for them, Israel is the testing ground for population control.

Like 60% of consumer spending in the USA is done by the top 10% income bracket. There are hundreds of millions of people who are increasingly becoming dead weight, as far as that 10% are concerned.

But even in all the horror, you can still see the faint glimmer of possibility that a better world built on humanity and love is possible, and I think that is what still keeps me going lol
blackballer.bsky.social
Yeah and all we can do is fight as hard as we can for that world, even if its already too late.

A new world is struggling to escape the old capitalist order, and from where im sitting that new world looks infinitely worse than what came before it

Capitalism is dead and has been dead for a while. The owners know this. Ive said this before, but the game now is whether or not they can create the AI killbot army required to control the masses before the masses wake up and unite against the machine algorithm of death.

No, politically illiterate as in not understanding that cheering for a woman who openly praised Trump for murdering civilians in boats while criticizing Trump for bombing said boats.

People still living in reality can feel the material effects. Wall Street traders, hedge fund perverts etc live in fantasy.

This is basically what happened with the subprime mortgage crisis. The idea behind the modern economy is that the more people involved who dont actually know what's going on, the better.

Pleading ignorance when the entire house of cards falls apart is the perfect defense.

If no one ever looks in the shiny box to see the pile of shit in it, you can keep trading boxes of shit back and forth forever. That way the line stays going up.

An entire economy built on deliberate ignorance

“I’ve spoken with over two-dozen rather senior people in the datacenter universe, and there was an interesting and overriding theme to our conversations; no one understands how the financial math is supposed to work. They are as baffled as I am, and they do this for a living.”
