These people aren't used to normal people. It's normal to learn and grow. I used to be as intolerant as those shouting at you now. I look back and cringe, but I grew out of it. If you don't look back at your past and cringe even a little bit, others are probably cringing at you right now.

Same on respecting civilians. The majority of people are rightly horrified by what Bibi's government have done. I would just say, "but they did X!" is not very helpful. Disrespecting civilians to make a point about the importance of civilians did not go down well with the public.

It depends if the support is for Israel (i.e., the people of Israel) or for the government's actions. If someone tries to brush 60k+ dead off as "Israel has a right to defend itself". Absolutely I feel strongly about that. That is not self-defense. But in these discussions, the goalposts always move

Don't support Hamas? Should be the minimum to not support terrorists or people who desecrate tributes to hostages — using her because she claims to be Jewish is such a cliché. Trump's got Marco Rubio I guess, so this "one of the good ones" rhetoric is trendy, and we know trends matter to you lot 😂.

I'm just not in favour of desecration. I'd say the same of anyone doing that about Palestinians too — as my record clearly shows. We can ask for respect to both sides. We don't need to support IDF. We don't need to support Hamas. We can be rational, fair, not bigoted. It is possible.

Principled opposition is to be encouraged. Cutting ribbons that represent the lives of innocent people who were been kidnapped by an organisation who just yesterday walked through the streets of Gaza executing people is another thing. Her performance got what she wanted. I don't see her point.

Amid all of the jubilation about hostages returning, it’s easy to bury the bad news some will be getting this week. Even if it’s not news, some will this week will be getting the coldest of closures, as their family members remains are returned to them two years too late.

The lyrics that really hit me hard: "Take me home", three words that simply capture the cries of the hostages and their loved ones and "I promise you that never again", a promise that felt like it was broken on October 7th, when safety felt like a shattered illusion for many Israeli Jews.

I worry about online antisemitism a lot, but then I remember people argue with the same level of unhinged zeal about Taylor Swift as they do Israel and I realise these people just want attention and they'll say anything to get it.
