Hi Bluesky!

I am continuing my many SciFi/Horror/Fantasy walkthroughs here.

In a walkthrough I review all canon & expanded universe media for a show in publication/release order.

In progress walkthrus shall continue here but I will add a link to the partial thread on X for continuity's sake.
Placeholder for my BlueSky walkthrough of "Armchair Theater" (1 of x):

1956-74: 426 x UK TV eps [✔️Have 67 of 168 that exist]

1960-65: 36 x UK TV eps of spin-off "Armchair Mystery Theater" [❌11 exist, to find]

1962: 13 x UK TV eps of spin-off "Out of the Unknown" [❌1 exists, to find]
#RichardDiamond Radio 82 cont'd.
In the PDF of the studio script we get more explanation as to what happened after the end. But it has a big X through it so got cut.
There was also supposed to be a hilarious line at the end but that wasn't even in the script either!!

#RichardDiamond Radio ep #82 "Blue Serge Suit" (09-Feb-51).
Definitely these ABC eps are on a smaller budget than the NBC eps. More players double up there's more adverts.
A nicely quirky ep but again no Helen fun at the end.

#RichardDiamond Radio 81 cont'd.
The eps are now a lot shorter but as it's 1951 that is be expected. Ok the shows are still 30 minutes but basically he story ends after 26 minutes so we get 4 minutes of cigarette bullshit at the end instead of Helen and Rick together.

#RichardDiamond Radio ep #81 "The Caspary Case" (02-Feb-51).
I'm annoyed the format has changed. Rick doesn't sing to Helen at the end anymore. Like that was the thing that made this show unique and lovable! Instead we ow get Prince Albert cigarettes adverts. Sheesh.

#ILoveAMystery Radio ep #915 "Bury Your Dead, Arizona [4]" (24-Nov-49).
We are finally out of the boxcar and lo Bury Your Dead is a tiny village in Arizona. When ILAM mentions a wolf/jaguar/lion at any stage you know someone will be getting eaten alive soon.

#ILoveAMystery Radio ep #914 "Bury Your Dead, Arizona [3]" (23-Nov-49).
Part 3 and we are still in that there boxcar! I like how offbeat this is. It's not quite anything real nor is it constructively unreal. It's just odd in an odd way.

#Dragnet Radio ep #187 "The Big String" (18-Jan-53).
Frank's brother-in-law now has a name!

This script again feels like a tweaked prior script but definitely has had a lot of changes put in so that it's almost entirely different.

Placeholder for my BlueSky walkthrough of "Childhood's End":

1953: 1 x Novel [❌yet to look for]

1997: 2 x UK Radio eps [❌yet to look for]

2015: 3 x Australian TV eps [❌yet to look for]
#Debris End of walkthrough

Do I recommend?

Good God no I do not. This was a calamity.

Watch eps #1.09 & #1.10 which was a great two-parter. There are some decent debris of the week eps but the arc is so clunky, unclear and confused. So there's no momentum in the series. It just fell to bits.
#Debris TV ep #1.13 "Celestial Body" (24-May-21).
Good grief. I can't speak. This was so poor. What went wrong with the storytelling, the plot, the everything. I give up already.
This was a real struggle to make it through.
#ILoveAMystery Radio ep #913 "Bury Your Dead, Arizona [2]" (22-Nov-49).
This is a boxcar ep. Morse's somewhat weird sexual predilections are to the fore. As it's really a 1939 script I'm getting #LIghtsOut "Catwife" (30-Mar-38) vibes here. Was that a 1930s thing?

Where are you on the livestream please, ie time stamp o the 6h+ video?
#Debris TV 1.12 cont'd.
The two leads decide to play it as a religious experience so Bryan suddenly turns into a door-to-door Mormon. Though I did admire the writers making this (very poor) character revelation be acted through a hazmat suit. As I said this does feel like it was written quickly.
#Debris Ep 1.12 cont'd.
The actor playing Finola's dad is doing a terrible job. He's so uninteresting, my brain switches off when he is on screen. He's written terribly which doesn't help. How can Bryan and Finola drive off to meet him whenever they want/
Where de feck is MI6 gone?

Such a mess.
#Debris Ep 1.12 cont'd.
What went wrong? Was the show suddenly cancelled so they had to chuck everything on the bonfire to halt the story ala RTD2?
Anson's escape was fine but as I said already it's too #Fringe. Where is Brill gone too? He's just disappeared. Surely he must return in the finale?
#Debris TV ep #1.12 "A Message from Ground Control" (17-May-21).
Basic ass direction, trite writing, absent visuals wrecked this. Could've been scary but wasn't.
The main debris arc became some vague tinselly SFX crap. The worst ep I've seen in a long time and I watched #GoodWitch this year.
Angry.
#Debris Ep 1.11 cont'd.
The warehouse giving Maddox the wreckage part without clearance was silly. It's bad writing choices like that which makes me not believe this fictional world.

Can Maddox operate Bryan remotely? Bryans's increased dosage must have some plot relevant effect in the finale.
#Debris Ep 1.11 cont'd.
As regards Finola she's not really involved in the main arc much. The Dee Dee thing disappeared. Heck knows what MI6 are doing as ain't seen them in a while. Her Dad's story lost me a while back. And I'm not interested in a possible ship with Bryan. But I do like her.
#Debris Ep 1.11 cont'd.
With 2 to go I suspect this series won't end neatly?
The end credits "story" is now starting to crystallise out. I like that novel story telling mechanism a lot.
I still think Bryan died but I'm just not sure what Maddox is planning? New body for his son would be so yawn!
#Debris TV ep #1.11 "Asaiah" (10-May-21).
I'm in two minds. OK the debris and Bryan have a history. Even so Finola acts on some crazy theories of hers in this ep based on almost zero evidence. I hate Afghan flashbacks in my sci-fi but the story wasn't ended we will inevitably see it again?
Seen outside of Space:1999 he is quite formidable an actor.
#ILoveAMystery Radio ep #912 "Bury Your Dead, Arizona [1]" (21-Nov-49).
This serial will be remaking the similarly titled serial in Radio eps #234-#248 (11-Dec-39 to 29-Dec-39).
These files don't have the end credits so I'm missing my cliffhanger fix but least it exists!

#ILoveAMystery Radio ep #911 "The Thing That Cries in the Night [15]" (18-Nov-49).
Yes these stories barely make real sense, almost everything happens off screen, there's no real depth nor plot yet this show is so perfect. It is all in the characterisation and the format.
