This is by far the most amazing one I’ve ever seen. East Texas A&M has to fold the program after this

The Lamar-East Texas A&M 'Bad Beats' segment was an instant classic on SportsCenter with SVP. 🏈📺🎙️💸😂

2x? Social media told me you can just declare whatever you want.

(Personally, I had him as 9x)

NEWS: Alex Bregman will test free agency once again this winter.

The 2x World Series champion is set to opt out of the three-year, $120 million deal he inked with the Boston Red Sox last offseason, according to multiple reports.

Lot of obvious candidates have been said already, so I'll go off the beaten path:

I really enjoyed the 2008-2012 Celtics. There was a certain high-IQ, old-man energy and intensity that was fun.

Here's a fun NBA question: not including past teams of the franchise you're a fan of, what was your favorite team to watch of all time?

For me, my favorite non-Timberwolves team to watch were the Adelman Kings. No team has ever had a prettier half court offense

Really encouraged

Jabari. You look great.

The fact that Steven Adams has such an insanely high floor may make him the optimal FVV replacement, as strange as that might look
bendubose.bsky.social
They’re not “losing” the rebounding advantage, but 28-24 with that length is… meh. They can and should do better
bendubose.bsky.social
As far as the defense, the thing about the double big is you can’t help but allow dribble penetration. You just have to rebound at an elite level and be super active with length in passing lanes to try and offset.

Not there yet, but hopeful it’ll come in non-exhibition settings

Dirty play by Alvarado, it’s what he does

Steven back in and everything is great again

Enormous gap in the “double big” with Steven Adams and without

The mindset from Jabari Smith Jr has been there in the preseason. Knocks down a corner 3. Sees Poole on him and dives to the post. Another post up where he drives and finishes.
bendubose.bsky.social
One of the issues with the "double big" is that sometimes the offense comes so easily that the defensive focus slips.

Too many second-chance opportunities and loose balls going to the Pels
bendubose.bsky.social
Again, the "double big" is an offensive stimulus. And if you have KD out there as one of the other three...
bendubose.bsky.social
Double big works quite well with KD, he draws enough attention that it gets the other four into advantaged spots, even without a "point guard"

Amen Thompson is drilling 25-footers now? Might be time for the league to shut down
bendubose.bsky.social
Good lord, this Amen-KD-Jabari-Sengun-Adams lineup is enormous
bendubose.bsky.social
With Tuesday's regular-season opener at OKC (Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein), it wouldn't surprise if the #Rockets are leaning to "double big" lineups for that game.

Alperen Sengun and Steven Adams started together once last season... an April 4 victory over, you guessed it... the Thunder.

The Rockets are starting their double-big lineup in tonight’s preseason game against the Pelicans: Amen Thompson, Kevin Durant, Jabari Smith Jr., Alperen Şengün and Steven Adams.

Ime Udoka said this could be a regular season starting lineup dependent on opponent personnel.

Overall, though, I like this more than my X experience this decade.

Would be nice if volume in non-game periods increased, but not the end of the world.

The big difference, X debates — especially if you're a bigger account — are insanely ad hominem. There are way more good-faith discussions here.

I took it to jury duty yesterday because IMO, it's way more efficient on multiple fronts to park in Midtown and ride than to deal with downtown traffic, garages, etc.

Spoiler: Everybody left me alone and I left them alone, and it was a clean and pleasant experience, amazing concept
bendubose.bsky.social
That said, @howardbeck.bsky.social is right that it would help a ton if bigger media accounts posted here. That's what can drive off-peak discussions in a non-trolly way.

IMO, BlueSky sports discussions *during* games are proof of concept that it can work. You just need more thought leaders
bendubose.bsky.social
Activity is good *during* live games. The post volume is at least decent, and average quality is higher, IMO.

There is a lull in non-game periods, but I'm okay with it. Quite frankly, the "pass the time" sports debates at X are usually engagement grifts by trolls or teenagers.

I'm curious -- coming up on a year since many of us migrated -- how fellow denizens of #NBASky feel about this. I don't miss the other place. Feel like I'm getting plenty of NBA chatter and feedback here. (Though, admittedly, I do wish more of my media peers would post regularly.)

I AM really struggling with how little NBA talk there is on here and I'm tired of pretending I'm not. Ratio me, it's a badge of honor.
