The interactions that biking buys you into give very "Kurt Vonnegut buying envelopes" energy. Just the little pleasant acknowledgements that other people are aware of you and vice versa. And you don't have to worry about the stakes. You're moving very fast and you'll never see these people again.

Using a sketchy overgrown bike underpass feels like taking the Forier transform of a road and then detransforming it back once you've solved the problem.
One of these days my front tire is gonna take a bad bounce off a walnut and I will promptly cease to exist.

"Oh while I'm in town I'll pick up a lil treat." A decision which I knew damn well would add over 80 minutes of cycling. Unhinged behavior. This would never happen in a car. I would not be behind the wheel saying "You know what while I'm out I should hit up Delaware and get my brioche on."

Too late to go back. Sidewalk ended but I've got some shoulder, I can pound through this to safety. *shoulder ends* Fucken WHOREBITCH. I'm dying out here! Well I'm like, stochastically dying. I'm rolling 4D6 every 90 seconds and if I roll more than two ones I get pancaked by a Honda Odyssey.

That 'sidewalk closed' sign can't stop me! I approached it from the other direction from whence there was no corresponding sign. Maybe it's only closed northbound.
Upsetting how much pretty scenery there is and how dangerous it is to look at it while in motion.
