Ugh, that sucks. But yay for paying on time. I suck at that.

Anyway, I made a fancy payhip store where you can buy direct from me, or you can buy my books on Kobo, Apple, Nook, and Amazon.

Fancy direct store that I worked really hard on: payhip.com/kristadball

The Portland Frog army has now infiltrated Tulsa, OK and they’ve made an unlikely alliance with the T-Rex infantry and Sharks on Hoverboards mercenary forces.

This is truly terrifying.

Gentle reminder: I am seeing more "I cannot afford pet food" posts & if you might face this in the near future/now, I recommend checking your local area's subreddit and posting if anyone knows of local programs for pet food. Many areas have small under-the-radar charities that give out pet food.

Maine has a ballot question that basically aims to disenfranchise disabled people who can't vote in person. Like, wtf is this supposed to do?
Screenshot from Ballotpedia of Maine ballot question 1. The text reads: Maine Question 1, the Require Voter Photo ID and Change Absentee Ballot and Drop Box Rules Initiative, is on the ballot in Maine as an indirect initiated state statute on November 4, 2025.

A "yes" vote supports changing election law to:

    require voters to present a photo ID for in-person voting, with an exception for those with religious exemptions;
    require voters to present a proof of photo ID for absentee voting, with an exception for those with religious exemptions;
    require the secretary of state to provide free photo ID cards to voters without a driver's license upon request;
    prohibit requesting an absentee ballot through a family member;
    limit the number of election drop boxes in a municipality to one;
    mandate a bipartisan team of election officials to collect ballots from drop boxes; and
    eliminate the option to request an absentee ballot automatically for each election without a separate request, among other changes.

A "no" vote opposes changing election law.

Why are wearing masks political?

It's just basic health science. Wear mask, reduce disease spread. Simple.

Did having to stay in the suburbs for however many weeks your nations did lockdowns really break that many people's brains?

I am fortunate that my current cat doesn't often try to wake me up. Usually, he waits until he hears me stirring, then he's in my face until I give in

I slept in until 8:30 this morning. It was wonderful! It's good to have the day off though I wish my state recognized National Indigenous Peoples' Day.

I was unusual in being diagnosed so young, usually dxed 40 plus. I'd been having arthritis symptoms that my primary was unsuccessful in treating. Then my bio sis, 3 years older than me, was diagnosed with AS. Her diagnosis plus my symptoms and positive blood test led my then rheumatologist to dx AS.

There's a blood test for AS. It's not definitive but in addition to symptoms, it can support a diagnosis.

It really is a Catch-22. So frustrating.

Yeah, I need to do better with exercising, including resistance training. I do calcium and vitamin D supplements. And I have a job where I spend several hours a day outside.

Ankylosing and psoriasis are co-morbidities.
beasbooknook.bsky.social
Huh, I'm surprised a neurosurgeon would dx ankylosing. It's both arthritis & an immune disorder as it affects both joints & organs. When you get your eyes checked, do they look for ankylosing? Jointwise, it typically affects the neck & spine. It also runs in families. My bio sister & I both have it.

Sucks, doesn't it? I always thought psoriasis sounded so uncomfortable and worse than osteoarthritis. Not that any form of arthritis is good. We do learn to deal with the pain, sigh.
