Zip ties just need to be illegal. Someone zip tied all these wires basically randomly, like whereever they crossed, turning the wire area into a weird spider web where nothing had any slack at all.
It has been weird to get No Kings protester's takes on Occupy Wall Street, the more I talk to people about No King the less I understand it, they don't have an economic message and they don't have an economic message. Trump is just a symptom of a broken system, removing him would not fix the problem
Well, regardless, here we are, the 1% are now more powerful than they have ever been. What does No Kings even want? Just to impeach Trump? But then Vance will be president. We will still have oligarchs and all the structural problems.
"1% bad" *was* the message but no one listened because I guess no one wanted to hear it. Now the 1% have destroyed our country, they own all of the media and the government. An additional message was the mutual aid techniques innovated developed at the camps.
If you think the US Constitution is valid and good, stop using medicines and technology developed after the US Constitution. At the very least we need to abolish the Senate, abolish the Supreme Court and implement ranked-choice voting nationwide.
"No Kings" is the true conservative movement, it stands athwart history saying "stop, no go back", I realized this morning, that's why it will be ineffective. We do not need to preserve the system that gave us Trump. We need to topple that system.
The problem is the US Constitution, it is a fundamentally flawed and outdated design which does not produce good results. There is no path forward for anyone with the US Constitution. It was written by people, people can write another one.
If Trump is impeached, then JD Vance becomes president. Then what? There is no way to move forward with our broken constitution. Do people understand that?
Do people understand that the American government is structurally and systemically broken because our constitution is outdated? Trump is a symptom, oligarchy can't be prevented without at least proportional representation, we also have to fundamentally change the house and senate systems.
I think if we want to have any chance at changing the government, more people need to stop taking pictures of other people without their permission. If consent was normalized it would do more harm to the administration than any protest.
"quit writing essays in peoples replies you tedious nerd" yeah, I'm going to be super serious as a response to that. That's the opening line to a respectful conversation for real.
I think it's fine and it works, otherwise we would be talking about all the stuff I wrote about protests instead of being snarky and we established quickly we aren't going to read someone's thoughts about protests. I'm not able to make a point because you've already said you won't read it.
