Absolutely and so much of it is lightning in a bottle - I think Kelly’s grapple with the morality of the alliance and how the fallout impacts her relationship is one of the best stories ever

It’s the relationships, the social politics, the moral grey areas in a game that’s what is at survivors core

Need everyone to know the new era contestant who said new era > old era and didn’t like Borneo because it was “too boring” has made an enemy in me for life.

It’s frustrating because the new era literally exists because of takes like these about the older seasons. “It’s boring, nothing happens”

That’s why you get forced journies and a bunch of advantages and silly twists and sob stories because they always need to “show something”

Reality tv in general today is oversaturated most long standing shows/franchises would NOT say their shows at the peak rn so success in 2025 is such a silly metric to me.

I find these takes about old school survivor from new era stans/players because much like they way they binged they lack context and nuance.

Survivor pioneered the genre of reality tv you can’t compare its success to the landscape today.
