super sad about Drew Struzan. He was excellent at capturing likeness but never made illustrations that felt stiff. He made whatever he illustrated look cooler. His use of light ❤️❤️. His collages never felt thrown together. Rest in peace. Thankyou for the inspiration. No one can touch you.

I feel when freedom of expression/art is argued for, many people knee-jerk hear they have to like/accept art they hate or disgusted by

you are allowed to hate and block art you don't like or even find morally reprehensible. you're just not allowed to negatively impact an artist's freedom to make it

the web is filled with slop, social media and ads are inflated with bots, creatives have no income, the earth is on fire, and people are hollowing out their minds and hearts for a machine to live for them. all this because a handfull rich idiots are all stupid enough to have their wallets inspected.

I don't feel threatened in my creativity with gAI. what I feel threatened about is all the damage that has been done and will continue be done between now and its crash, and an intense anger at absolutely everyone complicit in exacerbating it.

it's why longterm this is doomed and can't run a profit, no one cam actually profit from this, there's no practical sustainability to this scam tech. add in environmental degradation and trillions of investment that can't happen, and the dead-end is a matter of when, not if

it's unworkable in a real use case. art teams by necessity would still need to exist but they'd be relegated to editing or recreating AI slop, which is more work and costs more, not less. I can't emphasize enough it's literally easier, cheaper and more efficient to invest in human creativity.

gAI images can't be edited and they can't be re-generated. If an image needs to be tweaked, you either have to do it by hand or generate a completely new image. this also goes for video.

gAI actors or movies have no practical application as soon as its tested outside a puff piece headline

just want to say for don't underestimate the power of a simple $5 a month subscription to artists you want to support

it may seem insignificant but to put it into perspective:

It feels like such a slap in the face to sex workers and nsfw artists who are actively being censored by payment processors atm. Of course visa/mc are ok with this because its a rich white guy doing it AND they get access to all that VERY PROFITABLE PII. Disgusting.

When we write or draw porn or erotica, we get banned from having a bank account and our livelihoods get seized even if we give it away for free.

When billionaires steal what we've written or drawn to churn out a slop-approximate of porn, they're allowed to charge for it.

Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year
We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right. Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases. In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing). In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

Just heard Drew Struzan passed away 😞 His incredible work has given me and countless others so much awe, joy and inspiration!

I had posters of his work as a teen, I began using color pencils because I thought he used them too. Always inspired by him. Just utterly heart broken.

- handful of chopped up spinach
- 1 diced tomato
- half an onion and white mushrooms sautéed in a teaspoon of pesto
-1 fried egg
- drizzle japanese mayo + sriracha sauce
- dash of soy sauce
- topped with bonito flakes
