thank you! poor clover is not as enthused as we hoped she’d be, but she just got back from a 3 week long road trip and is suffering from slim-jim withdrawal (ciaran’s sister apparently shared Constantly), so i’m still optimistic her heart will open

yeah, if ppl didn’t just assume OES shed a lot (takes too much energy to grow that much fur they’re Not Dropping It), they’d be much happier without the doodle (OES are already a healthy breed & poodles have HIGH prey drive, so all you’re doing by crossing them is making them more nervous/reactive)

if i was staying i’d have loved to meet up (i was honestly too focused on My Task to think of it or i may have tried anyway) but i had 3 days to get out there & back to pittsburgh (and on the drive home i had to stop every 1-2 hrs for the baby’s tiny bladder), so i really truly had no time at all 🥲

an old english sheepdog (like our older dog clover)! unfortunately they get over-groomed for shows (and consequently misrepresented a lot) but they’re extremely intelligent herding dogs with absolutely no prey drive (they herd from the front instead of by chasing, making them good guide dogs)!

clover earlier this summer laying on a picnic blanket smiling at the camera. she’s been clipped short for the season except for her head, which has a ponytail to keep her long fur out of her eyes

clover more recently, on a road trip with my partner and his sister, having decided she’s driving that day (she’s curled up into the wheel well of the drivers seat)

this was the puppy we were hoping for (bravest of the litter, howls), but had thought was Not going to happen because i guess its got very good structure & the breeder was going to keep it to show? but one of its testes didn’t come down yet and that’s a disqualification!! good luck for us!

also went on a nice water hike (oh how i love to walk in a stream) and did a mediocre watercolor today.. kept busy this weekend (midweek. whatever)! 💪

idealic rocky stream in a steep valley, leaves everywhere. the water is suspiciously colored but there were fish in it and my dog isn’t dead so it’s probably fine

you should have seen what i did with various saws in my driveway yesterday. my partner is out of town or he would have killed me himself if he witnessed this (doing it with nobody around to call for help was also dumb, but unfortunately i was successful so i can’t say i won’t do worse in the future)

the cabinet that was 1.5 inches too low, sitting on a table saw in my driveway. i’ve very safely created a platform that the cabinet can be slid onto using a dog grooming table, some bricks, and plastic trays. i took this image specifically so i could explain what happened if i injured myself (but i did not injure myself)

the empty space where the cabinet and fridge should go. the cabinet and its doors are on the floor with a coat or two of primer drying. the doors of an adjacent cabinet have also been removed.

you can see the curious brick and shingle situation where the previous owners seemed to have wanted the kitchen to look like the outside of a cottage??

10 pm tonight, the cabinet is up, the cabinet adjacent to it has also been painted white, and the fridge finally fits in the fridge hole after nearly a year

i was almost getting it but then jonathan’s PJs were revealed to be “sleeps inside shell” and my brain broke

Captain Brnine, once a very private person, has been opening up as of late.
