My husband just had a similar experience... random new reviewer deciding they just didn't LIKE the paper, despite all the comments from
prior reviewers INCLUDING NEW EXPERIMENTS having been addressed.
Now it's in revisions all over again elsewhere...

Original submission must be 2 years ago now!

What a fantastic summary! I especially love the visual aids throughout the piece. As a visual learner, this really made the concepts intuitive and quickly click for me, thank you!

It is interesting to speculate on why evolution chose NMRs for this cGAS variant--is it truly the underground?🤔

Honestly can be a blessing in disguise. My most recent paper was rejected by the journal #1 with genuinely unhinged, wildly off-base reviewer comments that would have been a nightmare to address. Was able to ignore them completely, submit to journal #2 w/ excellent constructive reviews➡️in press🎉
ariellastudies.bsky.social
Awesome! This would have been so helpful as an M1!

Also, wait, the colors are so cute, lowkey I would put this on my shelf as home decor 😂✨

I will remember this for the future! ❤️

Thank you for your PSA!

Maybe this part of my brain is broken but I've always had trouble understanding awards.

I understand *competitions* (e.g., 100 people competed, 1 person won, 99 lost)

Awards feel like... 7 people figured out how to compete, 1 won, 6 lost, and me and 92 other people have no idea what's going on
ariellastudies.bsky.social
Whoops. Not me trying to shove my grant into the award-shaped hole in my CV and wondering what everyone else does 😅😅😅

I have ignored every single email I have ever gotten about award nominations... I am not 100% sure why, but I feel like part of it is unfamiliarity with this system and not wanting to look silly... 😅 Maybe I was meant to learn by osmosis, but I would happily attend a proper "how to awards" seminar.
ariellastudies.bsky.social
Is this how people get awards? I always wondered 😅

Breaking out my old USMLE Step 1 notes from 2019 to study for Step 2 now... 📜👵

Certainly thrilled to not have debt -- that said, the MSTP track has its pain points too.

Please send me luck, MedSky

Is it glass pods?

Of course it's glass pods.

It's always glass pods.
ariellastudies.bsky.social
I would be so freaked out if a test said it had 100% sensitivity and specificity...

I'd be like, well, this is probably fake 😅
ariellastudies.bsky.social
I guess technically "content availability"?😅

But what about the cardio work-out from power-walking back and forth between sessions on opposite sides of the convention center all day? My Apple Watch thought I had finally started a workout routine at ACR23.

PS: Still cannot figure out how to DM you here so pls check Twitter DM if you can 🫶

Not me just finally noticing ACR25 is in Chicago i.e. within driving distance... not to be going this year is more painful now 😭

For those with despair about today's extreme proposed funding cuts for NIH, NSF, NASA, NOAA, etc... remember:

CONGRESS 👏 SETS 👏 BUDGET 👏 LEVELS

Today's news is simply just the President's **request**.

Tell your elected representatives to REJECT this assault on science and scientific training.

NIH was the most extreme:

Trump in 2017: "Please cut NIH's budget by -22%" (yellow bars below)

Republican House: "Nah health research is important...let's increase it by +3%!"

Republican Senate: "How about +6%??"

Final Congress: "Actually...let's do +9%!!"
