The Supremes rely on "clever" opinions and the "wisdom" of originalism

But no originalism applied to Trump

That assumes a zero sum game. Ignores likelihood of a Nash equilibrium.

I think social choice theory is more applicable.

Much of GOP power via dividing voters into smaller non-cooperating factions that would overwhelm GOP if they ever worked together.

Where was originalism when they did so?

They only use originalism when it suits them, and then only in ways that serve their partisan goals.

I would urge Senate Dems to hold out until they get demands or GOP goes nuclear.

No advantage in compromise, this time at least. Trump WH will ignore any deals.

They and Cong GOP will pin any concession negatives on Dems.

Either Dems don't get all demands now or GOP owns it all themselves.

Not true. We've been analyzing the health care system for over a year.

There is an elegant solution that left, right, and center will find appealing.

But no political will in the right's leadership.

They view healthcare like they do abortion - as political weapons against perceived opponents.

Our national creed is that we are all created equal and have rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

So we as citizens should insure for others the same rights we claim for ourselves.

That is, we should do unto others as we would have them do to us.

=> a Golden Rule nation.

We have never been a Ten Commandments nation.

And 250 years of "Love thy Neighbor" conditioned on race or green card status proves we've never been a Christian nation.

But we have at times been a Golden Rule nation.

On many more walls of schools, businesses, etc

And can be again!

It is debatable if we were ever great because we were good, but it is without debate that we are no longer good.

And the 10 commandments can't make us good, especially when pushed by a party whose leaders have broken half of them.

So how do we get our goodness back? All of us, including MAGA?

But the America they are trying to destroy is much better and much greater than the one they are trying to create.
