Sounds interesting. I’m not familiar with Sapolsky. What’s the idea of the framework?

Note: though sometimes coming up Playtime’s general approach is to explore ideas philosophically rather than to introduce/analyse particular philosopher’s theories or get too deep into specific tech terms/framings
Super session! We thought carefully about the metaphysical nature of will and if that conception could be free, with lots of determinist counter examples. Moving onto if social structures limit or deny free will via feminist theory, determinism and prison abolitionism. Ending with changed minds.
#PHILOSOPHY PLAYTIME! This week we play with the idea ‘how could will be free?’

18.30-20.00, Wednesday 15 October at EH9|Espresso, Perth Rd, #Dundee
£6 cash on door, complimentary (decaf) coffee
All curious minds welcome!

Yes, it looks like it might be, but it was read out of the ideas box as free and we’re sticking with that, but given the playfulness of sessions we’ll probably go with a reading of tree too 😊

These would be fun ways to think about it. And possible playtimers will take play in that direction

Scot Gov should ban the sale of highly invasive Rhododendron ponticum (RP). It chokes our native woodlands & is one of the main threats to #ScotlandsRainforest. As well as bringing RP into line with other invasive non-native plants, Scot Gov should deliver & fund an INNS eradication plan. 🧵2/2
A table listing invasive plant species. The only one with a tick in the 'available to buy in the UK' box is Rhododendron ponticum.

In the run up to the May '26 Scottish Parliamentary elections, we'll be sharing our manifesto asks #MairTreesPlease with you. Let us know what you think by commenting and share, (including with your MSP) if you agree. Here's the 1st one (and it's a belter!) 🧵1/2
