I've approached this similarly.
Though Silksong feels a bit lime you need to rewire some of your impulses, especially for down-attacks.

I'm having similar stupidity with an iPhone I was forced to wipe because I lost my password muscle memory and now it's trying to get me to log into my account using my old apple phone or this one which has been wiped.

Think different (manufacturer next time).
