Many on here seem to think the DNC should have helped fund his campaign which is ridiculous since the only campaign the DNC funds directly is the presidential campaign.
No. Ken Martin endorsed him the day he won the primary.
Amy McGrath was supported by the DSCC not the DNC
The DNC did not support any of Beto's candidacies. The DSCC supported his candidacy against Cruz in 2018 and the DGA supported his candidacy against Abbott. Neither one of those are the DNC
The party whips are actually embedded within the House & Senate caucuses and those whips are elected by those body's members. Those members are supported in elections by the DCCC (House) and the DSCC (Sen). That means the DNC doesn't even control their election funding
Or worse they know what the DNC's role is and still engagement bait
The DNC doubled investment in state parties this year. Seems like a salient point in a year where there were so many state level flips. It also kicked in $500K in Oct for GOTV efforts in PA (two judicial seats), NJ (Gov & legislature) and VA (clean sweep)

They doubled investments in state parties this year. In addition donated $500K across VA, PA, and NJ in Oct for GOTV efforts. Coordinated townhalls in R districts with the DSCC & the DLCC

I would give more credit to the Democratic Legislature Campaign Committee (DLCC) as that is the org that recruits, funds, and strategizes state level campaigns. Still the DNC deserves credit for doubling investment in state parties this year
Keegan - perhaps do some research into civics. The DNC does not control who the House & Sen D caucuses elect as leader. They don't even recruit, fund, or strategize D House & Sen elections. That is the DCCC (House) and the DSCC (Sen).
Nothing except double investments in state parties this year. Seems like a salient point when there were several state level flips last night
History gives the context here - the reason Baucus, as chair of Sen Finance had a big role is because Sen Finance controlled by Ds is where Clinton's HC 1993 legislation died. Didn't even make it out of committee. Also Sen Finance chair is the most powerful chairmanship in congress
Well he did double investments in state parties. Seems like that is a relevant fact in the year where there were several flips at the state level.
There were several state level flips this year - a year in which the DNC doubled investments in state parties. Seems odd to ignore that very salient fact.
While Mamdani's win is encouraging, Spanberger's & Sherrill's wins should not be ignored. What really should not be ignored is the blue/purple state level legislator & judicial holds & flips. To not credit every single of these wins and acknowledge they all have something to add is a disservice
The mention of Sherrill is in context of how her win in concert w/ wins in the NJ legislature (where the DLCC invested) will help NJ fight back against Trump. I fail to see why an org whose SOLE mission is to support STATE legislature elections is some how wrong to not mention a CITY electoral win
The DLCC would not talk about Mayor Elect Mamdani because its role is to recruit, fund, and elect state legislators. That is the reason the texts you screen shot talked about the VA House wins.
And veterinarian offices and home services like HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing
Then former Secretary Reich should have said that in his original post.
My question as well or more accurately how are they also not the future of the D party. Mamdani's win is exciting; however, that 1 win doesn't mean he alone is the future of the D party. I would argue the biggest win last night was Ds absolutely bulldozing Rs in the VA state house.
I would add the demolition of the East Wing was on the ballot as it was a stark visual representation of everything else that man was wrecking. Symbols matter and he handed his opposition one on a platter.
And that is awesome. Still his election strategy is not a magic bullet. What works in NYC won't work as the same way in VA other purple states. We saw what works there tonight so candidates going forward should also look to those examples.
Mayor elect Mamdani ran a perfect campaign for NYC. It wouldn't have been a perfect campaign for statewide in VA, a purple state. For similar situations, candidates should look to the campaign Abigail Spanberger and the VA state D party (which flipped 11 state house seats) ran.
He showed one way for a D to get elected. Others who won big tonight showed others ways for Ds to get elected. IMO, the VA D state party has the most to teach seeing as how it flipped 12 state house seats & counting. That is a wholesale slaughter of Rs that should be the top news story tomorrow.
