Follow the money. Provincial intransigence aside, the biggest/powerful opponents are the major insurance companies. Why? If full pharmacare is in place, premiums paid by employers/benefits would drop substantially. And so would their outrageous profits. They have deep pockets for lobbying, etc.

Their usage is environmentally devastating. Nothing intelligent about that either.

The intelligent thing would be to rein them in until we can manage them better for all our sakes.

It’s a jaded (and failed) political stunt. One of the biggest cost to cities are wages which have union-set increases for the next year. Then there’s road maintenance,supplies,etc. These costs have increased greater than CPI due to *waves hand. A city that greatly cuts services for an /2
