10 December, is Human Rights Day. Theme for 2024 is ‘Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now’ with a special focus on young people.
We have an urgent task to support a dialogue for peace as this is the only sustainable option for the health of our fragile planet and for our children's future
What a treat to go to our Hackney Health Equity book club yesterday. Thoughtful, insightful conversation with wise people (in real life- not on-line!). Different perspectives and experiences shared.

Advent 2024

Now is the waiting time
The writing a list and making a wish time
The 1 to 24 tiny door chocolate surprise time
And we are the ones who wait….

Festive fun at the @hackneycouncil.bsky.social Christmas light switch on. Happy Christmas Hackney!

Researchers found that to address the epidemic of mental ill health among HCPs, workers needed:

Targeted MH interventions
Hot food
Rest areas/lockers
Free parking

Essentially staff just need to be valued & treated like human beings.

Rocket science it is not.

Was great to visit Homerton Grove Adventure Playground today. It’s a creative, inclusive, nature-filled play space with a fire pit, climbing structures & even an old taxi! Ideas were buzzing about how we can work more closely @homertonhealthcare.bsky.social #play

I feel hugely under-qualified to speak up about equality issues BUT I do want a better world & I do think we’re stronger together. So pleased to have joined Brap Equality Republic - a movement for social change - “a community of practitioners, dreamers, & all-round schemers” www.brap.org.uk/republic

I’ve had so many conversations with people about this. Of course, helping someone out of poverty is not simply about the cash…but project managers and systems take up so much resource. Would it be simpler to send budget straight to the people who need it?? ⬇️⬇️
Happy Stir up Sunday 🥣🧑🏻‍🍳Reflecting on how to stir up change in organisations and in the world (whilst making a deliciously Christmassy Pudding and Cake!) #adaptiveleadership #change #zoneofdisequilibrium #Advent #StirUpSunday
Hackney is rich in green spaces and waterways (even on rainy grey Autumn days). It’s great to see how well they are used and loved #greenspaces #socialconnection #health #wellbeing
Oh yes, thank you. I think I am in that. I got quite a few invites through yesterday on Teams so I can verify you guys were busy 🙂I hope to join and connect soon.
Always keen for a new connection!
As a lover of words, a speech and language therapist, an occasional poet and someone trying to make sense of the world, the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows has been a treasure. Get a copy and keep it by your bed! #poetry #words #emotionalliteracy #selfreflection www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...

I’m currently studying for an MSc in Systems Thinking & Leadership (it’s also a Level 7 Apprenticeship). I’m loving learning about new tools and frameworks to define ideas and solve problems I knew about before but didn’t know how to articulate. If you’re on this journey too I’d love to connect!
I’ve jumped into the Blue Sky & keen to connect! Topics like: health equity; inequalities; neighbourhoods; strengthening community; humanising healthcare; social justice; anti-racism; systems thinking; anchor institutions; compassionate leadership; social prescribing...and anything in between.
